Makhanlal Chaturvedi National University of Journalism and Communication (MCNUJC) is a premier University in Bhopal, Madhya Pradesh dedicated to provide education in the field of journalism, mass communication and media. MCNUJC was founded in 1990 under an Act of State Legislature and it is fully accredited by the University Grants Commission. This university is recognized by the NAAC (National Assessment and Accreditation Council) and has received grade ‘A’ which underlines the quality of education. MCNUJC teaches undergraduate, postgraduate and doctoral studies in print journalism, radio journalism, TV journalism, advertising & public relations, multimedia, animation & graphics, Film production & media management. Common programs are undergraduate (BA, BSc), postgraduate (MA, MSc), postgraduate diploma and PhD offered in the above fields. The admission process generally starts in May of the year for the academic year starting from July. End term examinations are held in June/July and the counselling sessions to help students to gain admission are also conducted. The next admission cycle for the 2024 academic year will also occur with examinations and counseling sessions in mid-2023. Placement sessions are conducted from October onwards.
MCNUJC has always recorded high placement rates in the best media firms and corporations that secure media graduates for journalism and public relations, advertising, animation and other media professions. ABP News, Dainik Bhaskar, Radio Mirchi, First India News, Times Internet and News24 have been some of the recruiters that have provided jobs in the pay scale of 3-6 LPA. Makhanlal Chaturvedi National University of Journalism and Communication Eligibility Criteria 2024 (by Departments)
1. Minimum 50% aggregate marks in Bachelor’s degree in any field from a recognized university for MA Journalism and Mass Communication programme.
2. Minimum 45% aggregate marks in B.A for admission to PG Diploma programs such as PR, Advertising, Radio, and TV.
3. Candidates should possess 10+2 examination pass in any stream with minimum 50% of marks in aggregate from a recognized board to be eligible for the undergraduate level course in BA Journalism and Mass Communication.
4. 10+2 examination pass in any stream with minimum 45% of the total marks from a recognized board for Print Journalism, TV Journalism Diploma.
5. Pass in any graduate degree with minimum 50% marks in aggregate for the admission into the PG Diploma Cyber and Law Course and for PG Diploma in Intellectual Property Rights.
6. There are no restrictions regarding the age of the candidates for any particular program.
