MAHE stands for Manipal Academy of Higher Education which is a deemed university in the city of Manipal in the state of Karnataka in India. Located in Coimbatore, Tamilnadu the institution was founded in 1953 with faculties such as engineering, medicine, pharmacy, nursing, communication, hotel management and others with over students more than 28000. MAHE is accredited by University Grants Commission (UGC) and Is affiliated by All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE). It holds grade A accreditation from the National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC). Based on NIRF ranking of 2023, MAHE was ranked at 8th place among universities of India.
MAHE is an institution that currently provides more than 250 programs of various disciplines that include engineering, architecture, pharmaceutical sciences, health sciences, communication, hotel management, data science and many others. Some common entrance examinations are MET for Btech, MU OET for medical, GPAT for pharmacy courses. It is generally from October to June every year that the admission forms are out and closes with counseling after the entrance examinations. MET 2024 examination schedule is as follows: Online registration begins in the month of October 2023, MET 2024 examination will be conducted in the month of April/May 2024. MET 2024 result will be declared in the month of May 2024 and the counselling for the same will commence in the month of June 2024.
The IT industry in particular have been scoring high in placement marks throughout and MAHE is no exception to this. It is neighbor to leading staff procurers such as Microsoft, Oracle, Texas instruments, Infosys, accenture, TCS, Cognizant, Wipro, Mercedes benz, Volvo and so on. In 2022, the maximum salary package offered was Rs.44 LPA and the median salary of the students was Rs. 6.5 LPA. A total of 80 percent and above students got placed in reputed firms. Major recruitment areas were – IT/Software, Core Engineering, Healthcare & Pharma, Banking, Financial Services & Insurance, Analytics and Consulting. Organization with products as their offering also joined the bandwagon of recruiting the graduating batch.
Undergraduate programs: Should have cleared 10+2 or its equivalent examination with the required subjects based on students’ selected field. They should recommend minimum aggregate percentages in the qualifying exam to range from 45% to 60% for various programs. Some of them include other conditions, for instance, entrance examination result.
Postgraduate programs: Minimum eligibility criteria: bachelors degree in a related field; cumulative percentage score of between 45% – 60% depending on the program. Certain programs may call for certain minimum entrance exam scores. The programs such as Undergraduate and Graduate require the students to have some work experience.
PhD programs: A candidate must possess postgraduate degree in the relevant field and the candidate should have minimum 55% marks. To be admitted in Manipal University to pursue PhD, one must pass the entrance test. Research proposal needed. Chosen by the department’s interviews committee.
