Mizoram University is a central university, established in 1994, located in Aizawl, the capital city of Mizoram state in the north eastern region of India. It was started in the year 2001 and for the past several years it has been recognized as an Institution of Excellence as per the UGC norms. The University is officially recognized by the University Grant Commission (UGC) and is accredited with grade ‘A’ by National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC). According to NIRF 2023, Mizoram University has been placed in the category of Universities in the band of 101-150.
Undergraduate postgraduate and research programmes are offered across faculties of arts, science, law, education, engineering and medicine. Some of them are the ordinary degree programs such as BA, BSc, BCom, MA, MSc, MCom, and integrated and professional programs including MBBS, BTech and many others. It is opened for the national and state level entrance examination for admission to the first year of various under graduate courses.

Mizoram University Eligibility Criteria 2024 (by Departments)
1. The candidate must have cleared his or her 12th standard or equivalent from any recognized board to join undergraduate programs.
2. For postgraduate program, the candidate requires possessing a relevant bachelors degree with minimum percentage marks as prescribed by the university.
3. Exemption and concessions in eligibilities are offered and allowed according to government norms regarding reserved seats.
4. As for the subject-wise eligibility and criteria required for each program set by the university, candidate needs to satisfy them.
5. Candidates with admission in final year can also apply, however they will have to produce their marks statement before admission.
6. Candidate will also have to pass any test of entrance and must correspond to the requirements set for selection in each of the program and category.
Mizoram University Placements 2024
Mizoram University has its own Training and Placement Cell which helps the trainees and students across its various courses in getting placements. The following are some of the companies some of which have recruited graduates from Mizoram University: Tata Consultancy Services, Wipro, Infosys, ICICI Bank, HDFC Bank. The highest salary package offered in recent placement years has been about Rs. 12 lakhs per annum, and the average salary package has been around Rs. 4-6 lakhs per annum approximately. The placement rate differs and ranges from 60% to 80% for engineering and computer science stream and 30% to 50% for arts, science, and commerce stream. Some of the key areas of IT service companies and also public and private sector banks are considered as top recruiters.
