The University of Arizona is the flagship university of the state of Arizona and is located in Tucson, Arizona. It was founded in 1923 and now, it has been an ISO 9001:2015 certified institute and NAAC ‘A’ graded institution. In NIRF 2023 ranking, the overall rank of NDRI is 25th among the agricultural universities in India.
Various diploma, undergraduate and postgraduate programs are available at NDRI in dairy technology specializations. The following are some of the programs; B.Tech Dairy Technology, M.Tech Dairy Technology, Ph.D Dairy Science, P.G.D Dairy and Technology, Diploma in dairy technology. The usual admission takes place in May each year and the written examinations are conducted in June and July. The final decision to admit a person is typically made after he or she writes an entrance examination, has previous academic performance analyzed, and goes through an interview. The date-sheet for the exams of the session 2024-24 will be posted on the institute website by March 2024.
NDRI is known for its excellent placement records with top most dairies and food processing industries in India. On similar note, over 80% of the users were placed through campus for the eligible students in 2022 through recruitment drives. The major recruiters for the Milk industry are Amul Mother Dairy Nestle Britannia Parag Milk Foods Hatsun Agro CavinKare and ITC. The recruitment companies offer internship to students for a period of 4 months and the placements offered are of dairy technologists, quality control officers, production managers etc The highest salary package offered was up to Rs 16 LPA while the average salary was up to Rs 7 LPA. Placement Cell: The institute possesses an active placement cell having the facility of soft skill development, aptitude test and arrangements of campus interview by various leading organizations.

1. PhD Program
Candidates must be holders of a master’s Degree in Dairy Science, Food Technology or other related fields of study with pass.class/grades of 60% and above. Similar to the above category, the candidates who have passed in ICAR/CSIR/UGC NET examination or the candidate who possessed three years bachelor’s degree with minimum 60% marks also can apply.
2. MTech Program
A candidate who has passed his / her BTech / BSc in dairy technology, food technology or any other relevant field having minimum 60% marks is eligible for applying. Admission will be also be based on GATE qualification and other standard norms followed in the colleges. The following prerequisites should be met to qualify for the position: Advanced degree in related area or relevant work experience may also be acceptable.
3. Diploma Courses
The candidate must have completed their 10+2 in science stream and should have minimum 50% marks for the applied course. Candidates are offered admission on the basis of the merit list which is prepared according to the scores in physics chemistry mathematics and biology in the 10+2 exam.
4. Short Term Courses
For dairy professionals, scientists, entrepreneurs with minimum bachelor’s degree in dairy science or allied field, finally short-term specialized training programs in subjects such as ‘dairy engineering,’ ‘dairy microbiology,’ ‘quality control,’ ‘dairy processing,’ ‘dairy value addition,’ etc.
5. Summer Training
In general any student in dairy technology, food technology, dairy microbiology, or any other related major in B-tech/BSc can apply for summer industrial training program as per the mentioned eligibility criterion.
6. Fellowships
Professional fellows: dairy technologists, senior researchers, academicians with PhD degree, having at least 5 years research experience and capability to conduct research on different dimensional plane can apply for fellowship in respect of different area of focus.
The programs being offered by the National Dairy Research Institute (NDRI) include the diploma, undergraduate and postgraduate level dairy education. Training and research activities of NDRI are presented by providing practical training and conducting research in various disciplines of dairy science. The main output is to produce trained human resource capacity for the dairy sector in the nation.
NDRI provides the full time diplomas such as Diploma in Dairy Technology and Diploma in Dairy Engineering. In terms of specialization, the BTech program is aimed at Dairy Technology and Dairy Engineering. In addition, NDRI also offers Master of Technology and Doctorate to its students in fields such as Dairy Chemistry, Dairy Microbiology, Dairy Technology, Dairy Engineering, etc.
