The National Law University, New Delhi (NLUD) is one of the prestigious universities in the country that offers legal education and was founded in 2008 by the Government of the National Capital Territory of Delhi. NLUD got ‘A’ Grade accreditation by NAAC with an cumulative grade point average (CGPA) of 3.59 out of 4 in the year 2022. As per NIRF ranking 2023, it stood at the third position among all the law universities.
NLUD presently has been providing the undergraduate and postgraduate programs in addition to many disciplines being offered such as B.A.LL.B. (Hons.), LL.M. and Ph.D. It offers specific courses in specialty fields like the Corporate and Commercial Law, Intellectual Property Rights, Human Rights Law and Policy. National Law University Eligibility Criteria 2024 (by Departments)
1. For the course of 5-year integrated BA LLB program, the candidate must have passed 10+2 exam with minimum of 45-50% depending on the concerned NLU.
2. For 3-year LLB program, it is required to have the bachelor’s degree in any field with minimum 45-50% marks based on the standards set by concerned NLU.
3. For LLM program, the applicant must have completed their LLB degree with a minimum of 50-55% marks based on the NLU they are coming from. Some NLUs have minimum work experience requirements, and some of them only allow candidates with at least two years of work experience.
4. University PhD or LLM degree with minimum 55% marks. Certain NLUs specify that the applicants should posses some working experience in their field of interest.
5. For diploma programs, diploma in any field; for bachelor’s degree programs, any bachelor’s degree. It should be understood that minimum marks for admissions differ from program to program, as well as from NLU to NLU.
6. Instructions regarding reduction in percentage of marks required for admission in case of reserved category candidates as per government rules. Restrictions which apply to some programs in terms of age.
