The North-Eastern Hill University Shillong offers various undergraduate and post graduate courses in arts, commerce, science, education, and law, management, medical science etc. The eligibility varies as per the different departments offered in the university. To pursue BA/BSc/BCom courses, students have to clear their class 12th examination with minimum 50% total marks with any recognized board. For admissions in BTech, the candidate must have passed their 12th standard and should have studied Physics, Chemistry, Maths or Computer Science and must have obtained at least 60% marks in PCM. BEd requires graduation with relevant major or Hons. degree in the same discipline with not less than 50% marks. LLB needs a three year graduation degree. The main MBA entrance test requires a bachelor’s degree with at least 50% marks and Mathematics in the 10+2 examination. The candidates to be admitted into MCA should be graduates preferably with Mathematics in 10+2 level with minimum 60% marks. The Admission Requirements for MA/MSc courses require the student to have passed in the Bachelor degree in the relevant subject in not less than 50% aggregate. For integrated MA/MSc, students must have their 10+2 exams qualifying certificate. The candidate aspiring to MBBS should have completed 10+2 with 50% marks in PCB and NEET test.

To apply online, please visit the website at nehu.ac.in, there is a section for ‘Admission’ or ‘Online Admission.’ Choose your preferred course and follow the online application process, as instructed on the website and the application form. Upload the scanned copies of necessary documents which include photographs and signatures in the format and size as required. Finish the application fee payment through the online banking/debit card/credit card.

The undergraduate programs offered in North-Eastern Hill University Shillong are across various disciplines such as Science, Arts, commerce and Education, etc. The BSc programs offered are physics, chemistry, mathematics, botany, zoology, etc. The minimum qualification required is class 12 examinations pass with minimum of 50% marks from a recognized board such as CBSE/ICSE/State boards. For now the accepted qualifying exams are NEET, JEE Mains etc For the BA subjects that include English, economics, history, political science among others applicants have to have at least a 50% pass in their 12th exams from any stream. The BCom program targets subjects such as accounting, finance, marketing, etc., and requires 50 percent marks in the 12th standard. It educates students for teaching positions and requires graduation degree with a minimum 50% aggregate and passing TET. The courses available at the undergraduate level are around 40 in science, arts commerce, law, education etc.
