Orissa University of Agriculture and Technology (OUAT) is the State agriculture university in Bhubaneswar, Odisha. This college was established in the year 1962, and it is accredited by the University Grants Commission, and NAAC has awarded it an ‘A’ grade. OUAT stands 91 in NIRF rankings page 2023 in agricultural universities category.
The university provides undergraduate, postgraduate, and doctoral courses in different fields including agriculture, horticulture, agricultural engineering, veterinary science, fishery, home science and so on.In detail, programmes that include BSc Agriculture, BTech Agricultural Engineering, MSc Agriculture, MTech, MBA and PhDs are offered. Key tests are: End-term examinations for admissions to the UG and PG courses. The admission applications for the 2024 batch may open in May-June of the year 2023, based on the previous trend. Placement is another important aspect of the institute which has been growing consistently in terms of campus placements as Orissa University of Agriculture and Technology (OUAT). The statistics of the recent placement session of 2021-22 indicate that more than 75% of the student got placed in some of the reputable organizations. Having analyzed the major recruiting companies, the students of OUAT can find jobs in Tata Consultancy Services, Infosys, Wipro, IBM, Accenture and others. The maximum offer within the placement was a handsome salary package going up to Rs 18 lakh per annum offered by an IT services company. The overall average salary offered in all branches was Rs 6.2 lakh per annum, which had a good growth rate when compared to the earlier placements.
