Patliputra University, Patna Bihar provides various programs at ug and pg level in arts, science, commerce, law, education, management etc. The departments are History, Economics, Physics, Chemistry, Zoology, Botany, Mathematics, Political Science, Philosophy, Psychology, Sociology, Geography etc The admission criteria may differ in various departments and branches, general criteria for arts/science/commerce groups are 45-50% of aggregate marks in class School leaving certificate, mark sheets and other documents related to education such as CBSE, CISCE etc are acceptable. In general, for programs such as LLB and MBA, the candidates must have passed their bachelor’s degree with a minimum of 50% marks from a recognized university and have given exams like CLAT, CAT etc.
The University provides various courses such as BA, BSc, BCom, MA, MSc, MCom, MBA, LLB, BEd, MEd and so on Promising students for the admission in 2024 passing will be able to submit their application in the month of May 2023. All the streams have semester system divided over three years for the bachelor’s programs and two years for Masters. The University has taken semester examination twice in a year and generally it is held in the month of November/December & April/May every year. Any student who wishes to join the institution must have qualified in a certain examination as per the institution’s standards. For admission to UG programs, the Merit scores of the 12th standard are taken into consideration; For admission to Masters program, both the graduation scores and any national/state level examination scores are considered. The application form will be accessible online, and students can apply before the last date by June 2023. It will be open to all students though it will be based on the number of places available in the classroom.

1. Qualifying Degree Marks – As per the norms of NCWEB, the candidates should have secured a minimum of 55% marks in the Bachelor’s degree examination conducted by the University of Delhi, and 50% in case of SC/ST/PwD category candidates. Percentage is the most important factor among these factors due to which higher percentage is given preference.
2. Entrance Test – In addition to the standard entrance test, PU also offers its own entrance test where students are selected based on the results of this examination. Where the two are comparable, the candidate ranked higher in the test is given preference.
3. Interview – Apart from the previous tests, candidates who are shortlisted have to sit for an interview where their knowledge, fluency, interests, among other things are tested. Main selection criterion is the performance of the candidate in the interview.
4. Reservation – There are provisions for the candidates from SC, ST, OBC and other categories of reserved as per government rules.
5. Number of Seats – Total number of seats available in a college and the proportion of open and reserved category also affects the selection probabilities in general as well as reserved category.

2. On the homepage of the official website of Patna University i.e www.patnauniversity.ac.in, there will be a link that will lead the student to the admission portal.
3. Notifications for M.Sc admissions appear mainly in the months of May-June; you should click on the M.Sc admissions link at that time.
4. Choose the discipline of the M.Sc that you wish to pursue and apply for it – Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, Botany Zoology etc.
5. New users to the portal have to sign up in the portal using a username and a password. Complete all personal, contact, academic and other requested information as per the format of the form or application.
6. Upload photograph, signatures, age proof, documents of qualifying exams, caste certificate if any, etc as scanned images.
7. Pay the application fee through the payment gateway which is integrated in this portal.
8. Fill in all requisite details carefully, view the Master of Science application form and submit it.
9. Affix the signature of the applicant on the printed and downloaded confirmation page with the application number.

1. Merit in the qualifying examination (10+2 or equivalent): It also has provisions for admission of candidates based on the marks they scored in the examination to qualify for the course. The candidate with higher percentage increases his/her odds of selection and if the opposite is true.
2. Reservation: Government norms of seat reservation for candidates belonging to SC, ST, EBC, BC, and women categories are implemented - In addition, candidates under these categories get relaxation in cut offs as well.
3. Entrance test: PU Patna has admission screening for the B.Com course. Performance in the test is also relevant when it comes to the selection of staff members. Cut-off marks may apply.
4. Group Discussion/Personal Interview: The final step is to participate in the GD/PI round to get selected for the post of engineer. As the final call of merit and selection is decided on the basis of GD/PI performance.
5. Application fee payment: In other words, only those candidates who have complied with the procedures of filling the application forms and paying the necessary fees for application are admitted.

2. First, go to the ‘Admissions’ tab on the top of the page, then click on the link that says UG Online Admissions.
3. A new page for UG admissions will open to students as a result of the given condition. Go to the section labeled ‘New Registration’ by clicking on it.
4. Very carefully enter all the necessary information to complete the registration and generate your login and password.
5. Log in again using the new credentials you have just created.
6. Online application: Enter basic information about yourself such as your name, date of birth, contact information, course of study, etc.
7. One has to scan various documents such as photographs, signatures, educational certificates etc. and upload the same as per the requirements.
8. Complete the online application form through debit/credit card or internet banking for the payment to the application fee.
9. Finally, review your PU B.Com application form and submit it online or by post.
10. In case of online purchase, download and take a print out of the confirmation/acknowledgment page for further use.
