Periyar University is one of the state university in Tamil Nadu state, India located in Salem city. It was founded in 1997 and it operates as a university that has been accredited by the University Grants Commission (UGC) and it received an ‘A’ grade accreditation by the National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC). Periyar University Eligibility Criteria 2024 (by Departments)
1. Minimum of 50% marks in aggregate in 10+2 or an equivalent examination conducted by a recognized Indian University or Board: 60% for SC/ST candidates.
2. The candidate must have passed bachelors degree in the respective subject from a recognized university securing a minimum of 50% of the total marks for general category and 55% for SC/ST/OBC.
3. For PG courses, candidate should possess any degree in relevant discipline with minimum 50% marks (Reserved category – 55%).
4. For MPhil & PhD, master’s degree in respective subjects with not less than 55% marks in aggregate.
5. Wrote the particular entrance examinations such as TANCET for MBA or MCA admissions.
6. Met any other conditions that the university may have in regards to particular programs such as GATE score for Mtech.

Placement of eligible students is managed through a placement cell established in Periyar University that works with organizations for campus interviews.
