Allahabad University or Prof. Rajendra Singh University is one of the oldest universities in India and it provides Undergraduate and Postgraduate courses in various fields as science, commerce, arts, law, education, etc. In all of these departments the admission requirements may differ. For B.Sc, the candidate should have passed class XII with minimum 50% aggregate and mathematics, physics and chemistry/biology as optional subjects. For BA in any of the streams namely, economics/ history/ English, 12th standard pass with any group and 50% in aggregate is required. To enter B.Com one must have 50% marks in 12th with Mathematics/Commerce Group. Integrated Law holds the eligibility criteria for having minimum 45% marks in 12th standard. BEd requires 50% marks in graduation in concerned subject and the BEd entrance exam scores. For admission in MSc one needs BSc degree with 50% marks in the subject which is being pursued. It is noteworthy that many MA programs admit those individuals, who graduated in the subject corresponding to the program’s focus, with no lower than 50% average. University accepts national level tests like JEE Main, CUET, LSAT, CLAT etc depending on the stream or course a candidate is applying for.
The University has released the upcoming exam schedule and admission calendar for the faculties of the 2024 batch. UG courses will be from 3rd week of July, year 2024, for the PG courses classes will begin from 1st week of August, year 2024. Approximate dates for entrance tests include March-May 2024. CUET as an entrance exam is compulsory for admissions to UG courses. For PG, University conducts its own respective test known as ‘RET/ PGRET’ or it takes the scores of national or state level exams. Online registration is at any time, but registering online often begins in December of the year 2023. Details like total number of seats, requirements to apply, fee structure and pattern of admission also differs to each department.
