SBBSU stands for Sant Baba Bhag Singh University, which is a private university located in Jalandhar, Punjab. Having its origin in 2017 SBBSU is UGC recognized university approved by AICTE. It received the NAAC Grade A in the year 2021. The NIRF Rankings of Universities of the year 2023 has been released by the Ministry of Education, Govt. Of India and in the above Rankings SBBSU has got its position amongst top 100 Universities of the country.
It aims to provide quality education in Undergraduate, Post graduate and Diploma courses in faculties of Engineering &Technology, Pharmacy, Agriculture, Basic & Applied Sciences, Education, Commerce & Management Studies. The next round of admission will be for the 2024 batch and it will start from the month of May, 2024. Applicants can apply either online or through the conventional system of applying by completing the application form and writing the university entrance exam.

1. It is mandatory that the candidate has passed 10+2 or equivalent examination in any stream from a recognized Central/State Board with minimum 50% marks in aggregate (45% for SC/ST Candidates).
2. For all the UG programs, it is mandatory that the student should have passed the concerned qualifying exam according to the stream of subject that the student has opted for.
3. For PG programs, it is required to have a UG degree from a recognized university for the students with minimum 50% marks in the exams (45% for SC/ST/OBC candidates).
4. It is mandatory to hold a master’s degree in a relevant subject from a recognized university with at least 55% marks for the admission in Ph.D and MPhil programs.
5. For diploma and certification programs the qualification required is 10+2 pass or ITI depending on the course pursued by the candidate.
6. The provisions of reservation and relaxation in eligibility criteria which are generally from government will be adapted for SC, ST, OBC, PwD.
Sant Baba Bhag Singh University holds a very good record in placements as many companies come to recruit candidates directly. The maximum number of offers made in 2023 was Rs 18 lakh per annum and from Microsoft. Some of the other big recruiting companies are Infosys, Wipro, TCS, CTS, and Capgemini which offers around 5 lakhs per annum package. A nominal number of students opt for off-campus placements as over 85% of them are placed through campus placement drives. Some of the special features include a Training & Placement Cell responsible for preparing students for interviews and aptitude tests. Top sectors of employment are IT, Banking/Financial services, Manufacturing, Education, Health care.
