Sardar Beant Singh State University is an institution situated in Gurdaspur, Punjab, which includes various undergraduate and postgraduate programs in arts, Science, Commerce, Computer Application, Business Administration, and other fields. The conditions for admission differ depending on the departments in concern. For B.A courses there is an eligibility criteria that the candidate should have passed 12th in any stream with minimum 45% marks. B.Sc. for post-graduate diploma in Computer Science it demands 12th Science pursuing with Physics, Chemistry, Maths/Biology with 50% marks. The admission criteria for B.Com are 50% in 12th Commerce stream. We accept any stream in XII with mathematics as one of the subjects and with minimum 50% aggregate. The qualifying examination for admission are P.SET, CBSE/ICSE or its equivalent examination of any state in Punjab.
Some of the courses include; B.A in English, Economics, Political Science, History, B. Sc. Physics, Chemistry, Botany, Zoology, Mathematics, B.Com among the faculties of the School of Science., B.C.A, B.B.A, M.A. In Punjabi, English, Political Science, M.Sc. In Botany, Zoology, Chemistry and M.Com.Academic qualification in the form of Masters in Computer Applications, Masters in Business Administration and more. It is common that the examination of these UG and PG programs take place in May to July months of the year. It is advised to apply for academic year 2024 before May-June 2023 as the application process might open in these months. Applicants who wish to apply for the programs need to complete the online application form provided on the University website. The admission process for undergraduate courses is merit based on the mark obtained in the qualifying examination but restricted by the eligibility criteria and the number of seats available. It is whenever the University is evaluating the forms which have been submitted, that the selection list is made and released.
There are undergraduate and postgraduate programmes which are offered at Sardar Beant Singh State University and students can apply for these programmes either through online or offline mode.
For online application, the candidate needs to go through the link www.sbsugurdaspur.ac.in and navigate on the admission tab. Choose your programme of interest and then complete all the fields required in the online application form as requested. Submit a check or any other mode of payment regarding the application fee through the website using net banking, debit/credit card. You can scan and upload any supporting documents that may be required, then go through your completed form and if agreeable, accept the declaration and thereby submit the form. This is the application ID and password to check status of your application.
For offline use, one can download the application form from the university website or use a hard copy that is commonly found in the university or its campuses. As you fill it, make sure to attach copies of documents such as certificates and photographs which are necessary for the admission process. Enclose the application form with processing fee through Demand Draft to the University Office or pay at the University Cash Counter, if any. Your application will be passed through the admission office and you will be notified concerning selection/interview by the department.
