Sathyabama Institute of Science and Technology or SIST as it is commonly referred to was started in the year 1987 under Jeppiaar Education Trust. SAST is a private deemed university, affiliated to UGC, Chennai, Tamil Nadu, approved by AICTE and is functioning from the year 1984.
