The Sher-e-Kashmir University of Agricultural Sciences and Technology of Jammu (SKUAST Jammu) is a university that provides undergraduate and postgraduate degrees in numerous fields of agriculture. The general requirements of eligibility differ depending on the course and the department. For BSc Agriculture, candidates should have passed 10+2 in science stream with Physics, Chemistry, Biology/ Mathematics. BSc Horticulture considers students who have passed class 10+2 examination with science group having Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics/ Biology. Eligibility for the BTech Food Technology course is 10+2 pass in science stream with Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics. BVSc & AH and BFSc courses provide admission to the students who have passed their 10+2 examination in science stream with Physics, Chemistry and Biology as subjects. The accepted exams are JEE Mains; JET Agriculture UG; SKUAST Entrance exam.
The University provides programmes in fields of Agriculture, Horticulture, Veterinary Sciences, Basic Sciences, Food Technology, and Forestry. The main courses available are BSc Agriculture, BSc Horticulture, BTech Food Technology, BVSc & AH, BFSc and MSc and PhD degree in different fields under the above mentioned programs. For admission to undergraduate programmes at SKUAST Jammu, the entrance examination is conducted during May-July 2023 for the admission in 2024. This is usually in March and encompasses admission notification. The process of admission include passing the entrance exam, completing the university application form and being part of the counselling session for seat allocation. The classes often start in August every year.

The final process of the application involves uploading of documents and payments of the application fees online.
In the offline mode of applying for the admission, the candidates have to come to the university and pick the application form from there or pick it up from the centers designated for this purpose. Complete the form accompanied by supporting documents and payment receipt for the application fee. The completed application form must be forwarded to the office of the Registrar of SKUAST-J within the prescribed time. • The admission to the B.Sc programs depends on the merit obtained in the qualifying examination which is normally the 10+2 Science examination.
• The minimum percentage requirement for general category is 60% in Physics, Chemistry & Biology/Math in 10+2 examination for B.Sc course admission. However the minimum percentage required may differ from one program/specialization to another.
• As per the rules of state government, reservation/concessions in the required aggregate percentage is given to the candidates.
• In some fields, there may be other requirements for eligibility such as subjects taken in 10+2, etc. It is recommended to consult the requirements and method of choosing and selecting candidates for the particular B.Sc program one is interested in.
• The candidates are selected for admission on merit basis depending on the number of applications received in each program/category by normalizing the aggregate percentage of the council of 10+2 examination.
• The university also offers counseling session where students are offered seats depending of merit, the order of their preference and the available vacant seats.

2. If you have identified a program of interest and desired to apply to it then navigate to the admission tab of the website and download the application form.
3. It is recommended to complete the application form in full and provide all the necessary documents. This normally comprises of 10th & 12th marks statements, passport size photographs taken recently, domicile certificate etc.
4. If the application fees are an option, then it can be paid online, or else one can get a demand draft made for the amount required. The fees amount and the payment details will be stated in the application form.

7. Attend the counseling/admission interview rounds as per the schedule that is provided. Photocopy all relevant documents to be tendered in court to ensure that the original documents are produced at the court.
8. If so, the students have to complete the admission processes by paying the admission fee before the deadline.
