Shri Lal Bahadur Shastri National Sanskrit University (SLBSRSV), New Delhi has many departments with courses related to Veda, Vyakarana, Nyaya, Advaita Vedanta, Dharmashastra, Jyotish, Sahitya etc and the different departments have different eligibility criteria Each department has different criteria of eligibility: to get into the departments of Veda, Vyakarana, Ny For Jyotish the eligibility is class 12 th pass in Mathematics as one of the subject having 50 % marks. The Sahitya department takes in students from all fields of study with passing class 12th as the requirement. For admission at the University, it admits qualifying exams such as CBSE, State Boards and Diplomas are allowed.
These include, full time campus programs such as Acharya, MA, MPhil and PhD in all the streams of Sanskrit. This means that the process of applying always begins in January of every year. For admission into the university in the 2024 academic year, the application closing date is 31st of March 2023.. It is established that the university entrance exam takes place usually in May whereas the outcomes are announced in July. The counselling exercise is then carried out with the selected candidates based on the rank and stream of their choice. University placements are purely merit-based for examinations conducted to qualify for admission. University is likely to offer BA (Hons) in Sanskrit and certificate courses in spoken Sanskrit, Indian Culture, Philosophy, and Ayurveda from the session 2024-25 and the online application will start in October, 2023. The process of admission to different numbers of courses of the Shri Lal Bahadur Shastri National Sanskrit University, New Delhi, is done online as well as offline.
The online procedure to apply for the university can be easily accessed from the official website of SLBSRVS University at www.slbsrsv.ac.in. When you are on the page of admissions, click on the course that you are interested in and would like to apply for and follow the admission process of the university where you have to fill in the necessary information, submit some documents and pay for the application fees online.
For offline mode, the candidates have to download the application form that can be found on the university’s official website: Candidates have to fill the application form correctly and attach self-attested copies of the documents like qualifying examination mark sheets, age proof, etc. The completed application form has to be forwarded by post/by hand to the University Office and a demand draft for the application fees has to be enclosed with the application. They can also be obtained from the administrative office of the university and can be submitted together with the fee that should be paid through cash or demand draft. UG/PG/diploma and certificate courses in Sanskrit and related subjects are offered in the university and the admission process is normally during May/June each year.
