It was set up in 1899 and is accredited by University Grants Commission of India, New Delhi; and has been accredited with ‘A++’ grade by The National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC). According to the NIRF rankings of 2023 released by the Ministry of Human Resource Development, Hindu College stands 2nd among colleges in India. Situated in the North Campus of the Delhi University, Hindu College is a coveted institution offering undergraduate programs in sciences, humanities and commerce streams across 25 acres of area. The college boasts of good quality faculty members and infrastructure and the purpose of the college is to offer good quality education and all round development of the students of the college.
Apart from this, Hindu College also has some undergraduate courses such as B.A (Hons) in Economics, English, Hindi, History, Philosophy, Political Science, Sanskrit, Sociology, B.Com (Hons) and B.Sc. Bachelors degree in Botany, Chemistry, Mathematics, Physics, Statistics and Zoology [Bachelor of Science Hours] Admission to the program takes place in May each year. Students have to complete the registration process by filling a registration form and take the DUET exam conducted by NTA. Admissions are done based on cut off marks set by the college authority. The exams are usually administered in the month of Nov-Dec and May-June in most of the institutions.

Hindu College Eligibility Criteria 2024 (by Departments)
1. B.A. Honours courses like Economics, English, History, Political Science, Sanskrit, etc. 10+2 pass in specific stream should collect at least 50% marks in their aggregate. It specifies cutoffs depending on demand to accommodate students in different subjects as per their performance.
2. For B.Com Honours – Pass in 10 +2 examination with minimum 50% aggregate marks along with Mathematics/ Business Mathematics/ Economics/ Statistics/ Computer Science/Computer Applications/ Information Practices and Management/ Informatics Practices as one of the subjects. Another measure is the Frac, which has a cutoff of approximately 95%.
3. For admission to B.Sc Honours courses in subjects such as chemistry, Physics, Zoology, Botany, etc. students should be 10+2 pass in science stream with not less than 50 % marks in aggregate. The subject relevant to the type of work to be done must be mandatorily taken at 12th level in most cases.
4. For BA Program courses - Any regular stream 10+2 pass no percentage required but cutoffs are high they are around 92 to 95 percent expected for different good subjects.
5. For B.Sc Program courses: The candidate should have completed 10+2 with Science stream as one of the divisions, the cutoffs having been near about 90%. Math is mandatory when some classes are combined.
