Sikkim University established in Gangtok offers wide ranging education and learning in Science, Arts, Commerce, Law, Engineering, Management and Education. Some of the core departments are biotechnology, botany, Chemistry, computer science, economics, education, English, history, horticulture, law, Life sciences, mathematics, Physics and zoology etc among them. This depends on the respective department and the program as follows; For the science programs, one needs 50% in class 12 or its equivalent in the respective science stream while for arts and commerce candidates need 45-50% in class 12. For laws candidates should have a graduation certificate with 45-50% while engineers should have 50-60% in Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics. The common entrance tests accepted for admissions in various disciplines are NEET, JEE Main, CLAT, AILET, and SUET.
It has a broad range of degree programs including approximately 40 undergraduate, postgraduate, and doctoral programs. The bachelor degree program is offered in various areas and titles including BTech in 6 fields, BSc in 14fields, BA in 7fields including Economics, English, History, BEd, LLB, B Com while at master degree level there are MSc in 11 specializations, MA in 6 specializations, MTech, LLM, MEd, MCom, MBA in 5 specializations. SUET: The entrance examination test is held in May for the admission in undergraduate courses; On the other hand, specific department examination are conducted from June onwards for postgraduate programs. It consists of Registration, Apply to respective departments, to take some entrance tests if necessary, Counseling, and Enrollment if and only if eligibility criteria is met. The academic session mostly starts in the month of August.

4. On the homepage, on the top is a tab that says ‘Admission’ If you scroll down you will see different programs of study and you should click on the one that you wish to apply for.
5. To apply online, complete the online form by entering all the details required as well as uploading the required documents.
6. For making an application one has to pay an application fee through net banking/debit card/credit card.
7. For offline application, the form is available at the university administrative block where you will need to purchase the form at the necessary fee.
8. After completing the application form, the original documents along the photographs, the duly filled application form along with copies of the documents and the application fee receipt have to be submitted to the Registrar’s office within the stipulated date.
9. There are different categories of admission to the university which is offered based on merit which has certain criteria that include the results of the last qualifying examination and any examination conducted by the university.
