Sri Venkateswara Institute of Medical Sciences (SVIMS), established in 1986, is one of the leading medical colleges in Andhra Pradesh which offers courses in medical, dental, nursing, allied health sciences and pharmacy. The criteria for MBBS course include the candidate passing NEET-UG with minimum 50 percentile and the candidate must complete class 10 plus 2 with the subject combination of Physics, Chemistry and Biology. The BDS program allows candidates who have passed the NEET MDS/NEET UG. For B.Pharm course the candidate must qualify the GPAT or SVIMS entrance exam with 50% marks in 10+2 with Physics, Maths/Biology, and Chemistry.
Health sciences are taught at the undergraduate and postgraduate levels with programs in medicine, dentistry, nursing, pharmacy, physiotherapy, public health, and paramedical. These programs can be through the national or state level entrance exams like NEET PG/ NEET UG/ GPAT or through SVIMS entrance test. The application forms for various courses offered by the institute are made available every year in the month of July /August on the institute’s website for the candidates who fulfill the eligibility criteria for the particular course.
Process for filling up of Admission Form online Read the instructions carefully before filling up the form:
1. The original mark sheet of the class 10 board examination or any government identity card like Aadhaar card, PAN card or voter ID card, driving licence or passport mentioning the date of birth and the address.
2. X standard mark sheet and pass certificate from a recognized educational board with date of birth proof.
3. A copy of the marks sheet and passing certificate of the 12th standard issued by a recognized board of education.
4. Official transcripts of the baccalaureate programs and official documents showing the candidate’s passing in the final year.
5. Documents related to entrance examination hall ticket, score card and letter regarding the allotment like rank letter of NEET UG.
6. Community or category certificate for those who are opting for the reserved quota together with the income and asset certificates.
1. Give a visit to the official website of SVIMS to get the notification for Ph.D admission and apply online when it is announced in May-June.
2. Sit for any entrance exam conducted in the period of July-August if you qualify for it. There may be a different level of marks fixed for different categories.
3. Take interview round if selected on the merit of the performance in written test as well as submit a research proposal.
4. The selection criteria is done in line with the test results of the written test and interview. Letters are written to the candidates of their selection.
5. Admission could be by paying fees and submitting documents once the lists of selected candidates are out, in August- September.
6. Register yourself in SVU, Tirupati and then you have to join a research work under a faculty guide allotted to you from the department.

1. Know about merger and checking eligibility criteria as per subjects offered in 10+2 exams and minimum marks secured.
