Symbiosis International University is a private university established under the section 3 of the University Grants Commission Act, 1956 with the approval of the government of India. It was set up in the year 2002 and is approved by the University Grants Commission, New Delhi. Symbiosis has also received an accreditation status from NAAC (National Assessment and Accreditation Council) with a grade A with score of 3.58 out of 4. The NIRF rankings, 2023 placed Symbiosis International University in the 27th position among universities in the country.  

Symbiosis has University and its affiliated institutes for UG, PG and doctoral programs spread across 8 campuses offering Law, Business & Commerce, Design, Engineering, Computer Studies, Medical & Health Care, Media &Communication, Arts & Social Sciences streams. Among the popular courses offered are MBBS, BBA, BA LLB, BA Mass Communication, B.Tech, MBA, B.Des, BA Economics, M.Des, Ph.D. offered in various specializations. It has its own test called the Symbiosis Entrance Test (SET) where it offers admission to most of its undergraduate courses while for postgraduate courses it takes admission based on the scores of MAT, CAT and GMAT. Symbiosis International University Eligibility Criteria 2024 (by Departments)

1. Candidate must have been a pass out in 10+2 or equivalent from any board recognized by the Indian council of education with at least 50% marks in aggregate. 

2. For engineering courses, must have passed 10+2 with at least 50% aggregate marks with Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics. Percentage varies by branch.

3. For management courses, the candidates can apply from any of the fields of study. It is important to note that the percentage requirement is dependent on the program the student. 

4. The qualification required for law courses is graduation in any stream with minimum 45 – 50% marks in aggregate.  

5. For admission to the architecture programs, the candidates must have passed their 10+2 examinations with Mathematics as one of the compulsory subjects. Minimum 50% aggregate required.

6. Other programs require 10+2 pass in related field or relevant stream for their programs as well. Graduates can also apply.

Symbiosis International University has good records of recruitment and placements for its students across various fields. More than 500 reputed companies come to the campus for the recruiters each year including IT giants like Infosys, Wipro, TCS, Cognizant, Accenture, and many major banking and financial service firms. The maximum salary, paid out for the year 2024, was Rs. 58.5 lakhs per annum, and the median salary paid was Rs. 6.5 lakhs per annum. The total placement percentage for all the faculties till 2024 has been above 92% where the students got placed in the corporate world and MNCs both domestic and international.
