TNAU is an agricultural university TNAU and is situated in Coimbatore, Tamil Nadu in India. TNAU which was set up in the year 1971 is a recognized University under UGC Act and has received ‘A’ Grade accreditation from NAAC. According to the 2023 NIRF ranking, TNAU has got the 18th rank among agricultural universities in India. 

TNAU provides education, research, and extension in the areas of agriculture, horticulture, food science, forestry, post-harvest technology, sericulture, agricultural engineering, and home science. It has 15 constituent colleges and 32 research stations in the campus that are situated in the state of Tamil Nadu. The semester system is adopted by TNAU in its under and post graduate courses. Some of the main streams includes Agriculture, Horticulture, Food Technology and Technology, Forestry, Masters in Agriculture and Masters in Business Administration in Agribusiness. The Common Entrance Test (CET) is conducted for admission into Undergraduate programs and TNAU-AGES entrance examination for PG students. The exams are conducted from May-June every year while the admission process gets an initiatory action in July.

Tamil Nadu Agricultural University Eligibility Criteria 2024 (by Departments)

1. For BSc Agriculture, the candidate should have passed 12th standard examination with Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics/ Biology as optional subjects obtaining at least 50% marks (40% for SC/ ST/ OBC/ PH category) in the above said subjects. This means that the company has an age limit of below 22 years for its employees.

2. The requirement for joining BTech Food Technology is that the candidate must have passed 12th standard with Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics with minimum 50% marks for GEN/OBC/MOBC candidates and 45% for SC/ST/PWD candidates. Moreover, there is no rule restricting the age of the people who can attend and participate in such events.  

3. LADM qualification for MSc Agriculture is BSc Agriculture degree with minimum 60% marks (55% for reserved categories). It is also important to note that there are no limited ages for people to participate in this health program.

4. For Ph.D. programs, candidates should possess a Master’s degree in the concerned specialization with minimum 55% marks for the general candidates and 50% for SC/ST/OBC (non-cream layer)/differently-abled candidates. The upper age limit mentioned for top level jobs is 40 years.  

5. As with the diploma programs, the student needs to pass 10th standard. In addition, for certain diplomas, candidates would also require having passed subjects in 10+2. There is no age limit to participate in this research study.
