Tamil Nadu Teachers Education University (TNTEU) is a state university in Chennai, Tamil Nadu the major specializations of which are in the field of teacher education. Set up in 2008, TNTEU is a recognized university under UGC and has got ‘A’ Grade as per the NAAC rating. According to NIRF ranking 2023 released ,TNTEU was ranked 31 among universities in India. 

The university provides different teaching courses at first and second degrees such as B.Edu, M.Edu, M.Phil in Education, and Ph.D in Education among others. The admission process is organized in May each year and applicants can apply only in online or on paper. Entrance exams are conducted during the first week of June 2023 and merit list students are then called for the counseling sessions which are held in the month of July. For our reference purpose, it is understood that the new academic session will start from the 3rd week of August, 2024.

TNTEU has partnered with over 150 well-established schools/educational institutions that offer internships and employment opportunities for the candidates. Some of the most notable companies that recruit teachers are Kendriya Vidyalaya, Navodaya Schools, Delhi Public Schools, Teacher’s Academy Schools, and others. More than 85% students who have passed out have got placements and the average starting pay scale offered ranges from Rs.25000/- to Rs.40000/-. The salary was the highest of Rs. 60,000 per month of the total recruiting companies. Some of the students have also passed the UGC-NET and they are currently serving as lecturers or assistant professors in numerous universities and colleges across the country. TNTEU has had several partnerships with industries and has incorporated a strong practical approach into the curriculum; thus, it claims one of the best places for teacher education and training in India.

Tamilnadu Teachers Education University which came into existence from the academic year 2008-09 is one of the state university situated at Chennai,Tamilnadu. At the Teacher Education level, it offers programs at undergraduate, postgraduate, and doctoral study level. To fulfill the aforesaid vision, the university is committed to deliver the courses that have benchmarked corresponding to the current trends in the teaching profession and the teacher education.

The main courses which are being offered by TNTEU are B.Ed, M.Ed, M.Phil, Ph.D in Education, Diploma in Teacher Education and Certificate courses in Educational Administration, Curriculum Development, Educational Technology, etc. These courses are aimed at preparing professionally alive teachers capable of with knowledge, attitudes and skills that are required. TNTEU has a separate placement cell which provides campus recruitment facilities for the students of Teachers education University Tamilnadu. A total number of more than 75 companies have already participated in the 2021-2022 placement drive and offered selections to the students in different domains. The maximum salary package delivered was Rs. 720,000 per annum in ZS Associates. The overall average salary packages offered to the students were around Rupees Four Lakhs Two Thousand only. Other notable recruiters are BYJU’s with placement offers up to Rs 6 LPA and recruited over 30 students and Extramarks that recruited more than 50 students with packages of Rs 3.5-4.5 LPA. In total, 87% of the eligible students of the batch passing out in 2021-22 have been placed through Campus Placements.
