Tata Institute of Fundamental Research Mumbai, also known as TIFR Mumbai is one of the leading institutes of India which provides graduate & post graduate programs in Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Computer Science & Science Education. TIFR currently offers masters and doctoral degrees and specializations in these streams. The criterion for admission is that the candidate should have a bachelor’s degree in the appropriate subject from a recognized university with at least 55% mark in aggregate. PhD requires a mandatory master’s degree in the relevant discipline for the candidate to be considered for admission. TIFR has direct admission for the master and PhD courses, and the college accepts national level exams such as CSIR-UGC NET, GATE, JEST for the admission process. There are several particular exams that are recognized for admission into Mathematics programs, including NBHM screening test.

3. In every case for most programs, the applicant is required to fill an online application form with some necessary information and documents submitted online.
4. Application fee can be made online using Credit/Debit cards or any other options available for online transactions.
5. The applications must be filled online and completed applications and should be summitted within the last mentioned date in the admission notification.
6. The original hard copy of such documents has to be posted or delivered to the institute at a later date for authenticity.

Documents Required for Admission in TIFR Mumbai for Different Courses:
1. UG admission is for 5 year integrated MSc program, The applicants have to appear for a TIFR entrance exam after 12th standard.
2. PG admission is offered for MSc, MTech ,PhD, applicants sit for subject entrance tests after their BSc.
3. The shortlisted candidates are called for interviews held at TIFR Mumbai Campus to gauge the overall talent.
4. The final merit list is prepared depending on the written examination result, interview result and academic standard.
5. Finally, the candidates who meet the entry requirements are offered admission to TIFR to undertake the academic program they have chosen
6. This means students who have been offered a place at the institution must ensure that they register by fulfilling other formalities such as submitting documents and paying fees before the stated time.

1. This section is an entry requirement whereby institutions check the candidate’s educational background, clearance of national examinations, and other related criteria.
