The Sanskrit College and University Kolkata is a renowned university that provides degree programs in Sanskrit and other streams of Arts, Science, as well as Commerce. However, the conditions that define the eligibility of the students differ from one department to another. For BA in Sanskrit, candidates should have passed Higher Secondary exam in any group. For BSc in Physics, Chemistry or Mathematics, candidate should have passed in Higher Secondary Exam in science stream with relevant subject combination. The Bachelor of Commerce program requires Higher Secondary pass in any stream as the minimum entry requirement. The qualifying examinations for admission across departments are HS, ISC, CBSE and other state boards.
The University provides programs like BA, BSc, BCom, MA, MSc, MCom, MPhil and PhD in faculties of Arts, Science, Commerce and Performing Arts. Some of the well-known courses are BA in Sanskrit, Political Science, Philosophy, English, Bengali, Hindi, History, BSc in Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, Botany, Zoology, BCom in Accounting and Finance. The tests for the odd semester is normally conducted in October-November while for the even semester in April-May of the same year. Admission is normally taken in the month of June. The applications are tendered online using the university portal. Depending on the marks obtained in the qualifying exam the candidate is called for counseling. The process of distribution of seats takes place in counselling rounds provided it conforms to the reservation policy of the state. The new academic session starts in the month of August.

To apply online you need to go through the website www.sanskritcollegeanduniversity.org.in and navigate to the admission tab. Choose the course of your choice and complete the online application form by entering fields like personal information, qualification, contact details etc Scan and upload necessary documents and also pay the application fee online. The completed and submitted form can be printed or saved for further use.
For the offline admission fill up the prescribed university admission form in the university admission department by paying the necessary charges. There are other important entries which include identity proof, age proof, mark sheets, certificates etc., which need to be attached and submitted along with the duly filled form with requisite fees for the due date in the university office. The selection lists and intimation regarding counseling dates will be put up on the website and the notice boards. After being selected, there is a requirement to start admission procedures only according to the schedule that has been notified.
