The University of Kota also known as UOK is an esteemed university which is located in Kota, Rajasthan. Founded in 1998, UOK is recognized with the UGC, and, as it has already been mentioned, is accredited grade A by NAAC. According to the NIRF Rankings 2023, the UOK stood at 25th position out of 200 in the list of top universities in India. It has brought undergraduate, postgraduate and doctoral courses in various disciplines, in faculties of Science, Arts, Commerce, Engineering and Management.

University of Kota Eligibility Criteria 2024 (by Departments)

1. The candidate must have passed 10+2 or equivalent examination in any stream from a recognized board for the minimum duration with at least 50% marks for general category candidates while 45% marks for SC/ ST candidates.  

2. For undergraduate courses, the candidate must possess 10+2 or equivalent in the relevant subjects from a recognized board. 

3. For postgraduate programs the candidate must have a pass in a relevant subject of bachelor’s degree from any university recognized by AIU with 50% marks (45% for SC/ST).

4. For Ph.D. and doctoral programs, the candidate must possess a master’s degree in the concerned subject with minimum 55% in aggregate. 

5. Along with academic performance, the candidate may be required to appear for several national/state level entrance exams which include JEE Main, CAT, GATE and many more as per the course.  

6. The examination has concession of five percent marks in the qualifying marks for the candidates of the backward classes as per government rules.  

7. Different programs such as LLB or M.Ed., may have a different set of requirements as to who should apply.

Campus placements in the University of Kota are highly competitive due to the quality input of teaching environments and quality students. Many corporate giants like Infosys, Wipro, TCS, Cognizant, Accenture etc recruiters get into the campus for recruitment of students. The maximum salary package given last year was Rs 18 lakh per annum which was offered by Microsoft. The pay scale is moderate and the salary package offered to the officials and employees fall in the bracket of Rs 4-6 lakhs per annum. The placement record was quite impressive last year as around 85 percent students got placed, irrespective of the domain likes IT, analytics, consulting, and core engineering roles. Infosys came out as the top recruiter with maximum number of offers extending 45% offer to the students from Computer Science and IT branches for an average salary of Rs. 6.2 lakhs per annum.
