Uttarakhand Open University that is affiliated to a number of undergraduate and postgraduate fields of study, including arts, science, commerce, computer applications, tourism and hotel management. The minimum eligibility criteria may also differ from one department to another – whereas an applicant with class 12th pass from any recognized board is eligible for under graduate programs of Bachelors, the applicant with a relevant Bachelors degree having minimum marks prescribed by the university is eligible for Masters programs. Courses such as the BCA and MCA are open to all candidates with a math background. They are UGC NET, GATE, CAT, campus placements are available for the students after the completion of their programs.
It has faculties of Arts, Science, Commerce, Social Science, Library Science, Computer Science and many others that have diploma, undergraduate, postgraduate and PhD courses. The criteria of selection include merit and minimum requirements for admission in relevant courses/programs. Reservation policies are also applicable as per norms regarding the number of seats to be reserved for the SC/ST/OBC/PH categories.

1. Ensure you meet the following requirements; age, academic qualifications, and other matters in relation to the selected course.
2. You should submit your application either online or offline before closure of application with a completed form and application fee.
3. Sit for the entrance examination if any such as PGET, PUTEE and any other relevant one.
4. If wish to work in a certain organization check merit list when announced to see if one is qualified.
5. If qualified in the merit list should attend counseling session as per the schedule set.
6. Candidates are admitted to certain courses and colleges according to merit rank and the number of seats available for the particular course.

7. Pay for books and other sundry items for the course as required Attend induction and start with classes on the appointed day. To avoid any issues, ensure you attend all your classes and devote your time to your academics.
