VIT Bhopal University provides many Undergraduate and Postgraduate courses in the fields of Engineering and Technology, Basic Sciences, Applied Arts, Humanities, Commerce and Management. There is often a difference in the eligibility criteria depending on the departments in question. For the engineering program such as Civil, Computer Science, Electronics, Mechanical. Eligibility to sit for the 10+2 examination and minimum passing the 10+2 exams with 50% marks in each of the Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics subjects. As for programs like B.Des, candidates have to pass the 10+2 level of education in any stream and must score 50% marks. For BBA , B.Com programs, candidate should have passed 10+2 in any stream with 50% marks. The entrance examination accepted across all programs include CBSE, ICSE and other state boards and for engineering programs, only JEE MAIN will be considered. Some major courses provided across stream are BE/B.Tech Engineering, Business and Commerce, Liberal Arts, Science.

VIT Bhopal University offers various undergraduate programs in engineering and technology, sciences, arts and humanities, design and many others. The requirement is different for each department, but for B.Tech programs, a candidate must have cleared their 12th grade in Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics with an average of 60% marks. These are JEE Mains, MHTCET, VITEEE, and others are accepted for admissions into this university. For B.Sc. programs, the candidate passed in 12th standard from the science team with at least 60% are eligible. There are several exams accepted in which the universit entrance test conducted by VIT Bhopal. Bachelor of Computer Applications (BCA) course comprises 12th pass in any group with Mathematics as one of the subjects with minimum 60% marks in aggregate. The university provides several Bachelors and also provides different types of stream like Engineering, Sciences, computer applications, Design, liberal arts and social sciences etc.
The university in Madhya Pradesh VIT Bhopal University provides several post-graduate programs in various fields. Application requirements for admission into PG programs vary across departments. For an MBA at SoB, candidates require: A bachelor’s degree obtained in the stipulated duration with minimum 50% marks in the qualifying examination The candidates should possess valid CAT/MAT/XAT/CMAT scores. Among others Information Technology department provides MTech in IT and Cybe Security which allows a candidate with BTech/BE degree and 60% marks along with valid GATE score. The students who are willing to take admission in MTech Biotechnology must have passed BSc in relevant disciplines with 55% and qualified in GATE. Master level programs like MSc Physics and MSc Chemistry have provisions of admission for students having graduation degree in the science stream with minimum 50% marks.
The VIT Bhopal University has developed provisions for the PhD programmes in the faculty of Engineering & Technology, School of Sciences, School of social sciences & humanities and the school of Management. Scholars are stationed based on the specific departments; however, the general condition for scholars is that they should have a master’s degree in the relevant field with not less than 55% aggregate marks. For instance, Computer Science and Engineering department takes GATE/NET scores whereas departments like Management take CAT/MAT/CMAT/ATMA/GMAT scores.
