William Carey University Shillong is a private university for the Christians of India minorities located in Shillong Meghalaya. ,the college has been recognized by University Grants Commission, New Delhi and it has been accredited by National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC) with B++ grade during the academic year 2000. According to NIRF ranking 2023, it was ranked 101-150th among universities in India.
It has a well rounded curriculum with programs at the undergraduate, postgraduate and research levels in faculties such as arts, science, commerce, education, theology and many more. This comes after the list of the popular offered courses include Bachelor of Arts-B.A, Bachelor of science-B.Sc, Bachelor of Commerce- B.Com, Bachelor of Computer Applications- B.CA, Bachelor of Social Work-BSW among others Master of Arts-MA, Master of Science-MSc, Master of Commerce-M.Com, Master of Business Administration-MBA, Master of Computer Applications-MCA. The admission of the 2024 batch would commence around the beginning of March or April 2023.
The university is equipped with an active placement cell that aids the students to secure internships and job offers after graduation. Many reputed companies such as Wipro, Infosys, Deloitte, ICICI Bank, etc have invested their time and resources to recruit students from this campus. This placement season, in 2022-23, more than 150 of the students were placed in various companies with the highest salary package being 7 LPA. More than three quarters of the clientele group of the students were successfully placed in various fields such as information technology, banking, education, marketing research and the likes. The median salary stood at 3.2 LPA and the median salary package was 3.2 LPA.

Some of the prominent recruiters are IBM, Wipro, Infosys, TCS, Tech Mahindra, Dell, HDFC Bank, ICICI Bank, Axis Bank etc Some of the recruiters visited for placement in 2023 were American express which offered the highest salary package of 18 LPA and average salary package was 4.5 LPA. Some other prominent recruiters are Genpact, Byju’s, Extramarks, Concentrix that had placed the students in packages ranging between 3-5 LPA.
