For the 2024 academic year, BIT Dhanbad has released exam dates and admission procedures regarding its BTech and MTech in Computer Science, Electrical, Civil, Mechanical Engineering, MBA, MCA programs. Admission to the BTech programs happen through entrance tests conducted in April 2023 these include JEE Main, WBJEE, and BITAT. Candidates who have appeared and qualified the GATE exam can apply for the MTech programs before July 2023. Other MBA entrance tests namely CAT, MAT and XAT would be conducted between the months of October and December of the year 2023. MCA entrance test is planned in May, 2023. As per their score in these examinations, candidate have to register themselves for admission in BIT Dhanbad through online application form For admission procedure they need to attend counseling session from June to July 2023 for the provision admission to its various courses like BTech, MTech, MBA and MCA before start of session 2024.
For online application, BIT Dhanbad’s official link should be visited at http://www.bitmesra.ac.in/. If you are a new applicant, please visit the University by clicking on ‘Admission’ or ‘Apply Now’ tab and create a login ID and password to register yourself. Candidates are supposed to complete all the fields in the online application form and attach the scanned copies of the necessary documents. Complete the application through the online application link and make the application fee payment through credit/debit card/net banking etc. It is advisable to take a print out of the completed application for further reference.

- They get admission based on their performance on the JEE Main and the scores they obtained in the Boards for their 12th standard. This means that the candidates need to clear the JEE Main and then cross the cut-off mark.
- The admissions are done on the basis of 85% weight of the candidate in JEE Main percentile rank and 15% weight of the percentage obtained in 12th board examination.
- There are two separate merit lists prepared according to the cut off percentage of weightage assigned for the categories such as Open, OBC, SC & ST.

6. Don’t forget to submit the form and get the acknowledgement print out -In case of BTech, ensure you cross-check details before completing the BIT Dhanbad application form. Attach and take a hard copy of the final acknowledgement.
7. Participate in Counselling Process-If shortlisted, then one has to appear for the counselling rounds in the designated dates only. Take group discussion rounds and personal interview tests.
