University of Delhi has many colleges for women and among them Gargi College is considered as one of the best college for women. It provide its undergraduate course in humanities, science, and Commerce streams. Humanities faculties of the university like English, History, Political Science, etc has a requirement of minimum 50-60% in class 12th from any recognized board. To apply for B.Sc, student have to pass their class 12th with subjects like Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics. subjects such as Physics, Chemistry, Zoology, Botany, etc Classes & they admit students through National Level examinations like CBSE & ISC. B.Com and B.A. Economic (Hons) are the courses for which the students are required to clear exams such as CBSE, ISC, IB and the students require at least 65-70% marks in the 12th standard. Its admission procedure to admit students in its courses like B.A. Prog, B.A. English, Political Science, etc is solely based on the class 12th percentage.
It is important to note that the admission exercise that will commence in the beginning of the 2024 academic year will begin in May 2023. The duration of all the courses is three years same as B.A. B.Com., B.Sc. The entrance exam dates: DUET, CUET etc will be released in March 2023. Students can apply online for admission at the official website of Delhi University that is du.ac.in. To apply online, the candidate needs to go through the official website of the college at www.gargicollege.in, and find the link of admission. Choose your preferred course and complete the online application form, provide as much information as possible. This section involves uploading scanned copies of the documents such as photograph, signature, education certificates, among others in accordance with the prescribed size. The form can be filled online and a scanned copy of the form is to be submitted online while paying the application fee through net banking/ card. Download and print the filled form for the record purposes in the future.
For the offline mode of application, you will have to get a physical copy of the application form from the college administrative office. It should be filled cautiously and the copies of necessary documents must be enclosed; they should be photocopied with the seal and signatures exemplified. Enclose the application form with the fee (can be remit in the form of a DD) before the last date to the administrative office. Normal admission procedure is followed strictly keeping in view the university rules and regulations and merit of the students in the qualifying examination. - For admissions students have to go through the University of Delhi Admission process in order to get themselves enrolled. Students enroll with the university through the university’s online platform.
- The admission process for BA is meritorious, and it takes into consideration the scores obtained in the Class 12 examinations. The cut-offs are published for specific programs and categories. Students have to get the minimum admission requirement or cut off point.
- Moreover, there are courses wise eligibility criteria about subject taken in class XII, apart from cut off. For instance, BA Honours Economics needs Mathematics in 12th Class.
- As per Delhi University norms, reservation and relaxation policies are implemented for SC/ST/OBC/PWD etc. students for few percentage % of seat for admission in each course.
- It means that achievements made in other related co-curricular activities such as games and cultural activities can be an added plus when it comes to admission. ECA category also provides 5 percent ’supernumerary’ seats.
- Gaining direct entry into the general BA is however not done through sitting for an entrance test. But some programs such as BA Journalism have extra Entrance Test requirements in addition to the above mentioned ones.
1. The specific details about the application might be made available at the college website or the admission portals, and the eligibility criteria. Application process can begin as early as May / June.
2. Visit the University of Delhi Admission Portal and click on the ‘New User’ link to signup for a login ID and password. It is advisable to enter all the fields containing academic and personal information to complete the section.
3. While filling the application form, check the box of selecting Gargi College and choose the BA program/major of your preference. The preferences can be marked for multiple colleges and courses, as many times as the user desires.
4. Submit electronic image of passport photo, passport signature, and Class 10 and 12 certificates/mark sheets and other testimonials if necessary.
5. It must be paid online to cater the application fee.
6. You need to get to the final step as soon as all the details have been entered on the DU application form. In case there is no option for final submission, simply print the last page of the document.
7. After the admission committee of DU declares the merit lists of candidates, you can find your name in the selected list for admission at Gargi College according to the set criteria, cut-off marks, academic performance, and availability of seats.

- It is also noteworthy that there is no cut off for students hailing from the South or any other region of the country, no extra curricular activities, no standard entrance tests etc counts in Delhi University UG admissions.
