Every year many students take admission in various courses offered by Hindu College which is one of the best colleges in Delhi University. The departments available to the science stream students of Hindu college are: Physics Chemistry Botany zoology etc The student in these streams should have 60% marks in 12th boards as minimum requirement. The eligibility criteria of Streams like Arts and humanities Economics, Political science, history, Sociology, English, etc are 65% in 12th Boards. Sports, Defense, and quota students of extra curricular activities should also apply. The college admits students based on scores in all the prominent 12th standard boards such as CBSE, ISC, IB, etc while some of the seats are reserved for state board students also.

The various courses that are available at Hindu College are offered in the different faculties for which admission is in May every year. The main undergraduate programmes are the Bachelor of Arts in economics, English, philosophy, history, political science and sociology and the Bachelor of Science. C.K.Swamy has offered various courses in physics, chemistry, zoology, botany, statistics etc apart from B.Com program. Key dates for Hindu College admissions 2024 are: From 1st of May registration, merit lists to be declared by last week of June and the last admission process by the third week of July. This selection will depend on the percentage obtained in the 12th board and then the college’s specific tests and interviews may be conducted. As for the minimum eligibility requirements, they could be different for each course and by disciplines. When registering, students can do so either online or on paper; only a select number will be contacted to go through the admission procedures before classes start by the last week of July 2024.

The online registration procedure involves accessing the official portal of Delhi University at www.du.ac.in and then registering as a user. The scanning process of photographs, signatures, and class 10 and 12 mark sheets along with the application form you have to complete. For offline submission, the forms can be procured from any of the college campuses for a small charge. The form should be completed and have attached agreements which are duly certified before the given dates.

Hindu College is also an autonomous college and has a very limited intake of students to its various courses and the students are admitted under the cut off percentage that is declared for the various programs. To be on the safe side, it is a requirement that the candidates achieve the set cut-off marks, but the performance does not equal to the admission. HC New Delhi BA Selection Criteria

1. Class 12th Percentage- The candidates must have cleared class 12th minimum percentage depending upon the college as well as course cut off percentage. In practice, it commonly varies between 60% and 98%.

2. Stream of subject in class twelfth - Humanities/Arts stream is generally recommended for admission in BA courses. Applicants from the other steams can also apply.

3. Extracurricular Activities - In the course of the years, there are some colleges which provide certain percentage of extra curriculum activities like in sports, arts, culture etc. 

4. Entrance Test Performance- Certain courses/streams as well as some of the colleges have their own examinations for admission. In these tests, performance is taken into consideration.

5. Interview Performance - Sometimes, colleges give personal interviews and assess the students on parameters like communication skills personality and their hobbies.

HC New Delhi BA How To Apply?

1. If you have not heard of any admission application forms, visit the college website or check the university notices for the specific time when the forms are available, mostly in May/June.

2. After forms are out, go to the Delhi University admission link and do the registration process. Fill the form online with relevant information.

3. Hansraj College and the BA program/major you wish to apply to should be your preferences while filling the form. 

4. This should contain scanned copies, passport size photograph, signature, Class XII mark sheet and school leaving certificate etc. 

5. Sure, the online application fees are due. Payments can be done through net banking, credit/debit cards, UPI.

6. Ensure that you fill the form and submit it before the cut-off time for the application. Most of the online forms have a feature that prints the final submission confirmation page.

7. If your name appears in the cut-offs list for the shortlisted course, then complete the document verification and other admission related processes only at the Hansraj College campus as per mentioned dates.

HC New Delhi MA Selection Criteria

- Entrance exam performance – Most MA programs conduct entrance exams such as DUET, JNUEE, etc The scores in these exams are generally assigned a good deal of importance while selecting candidates.

- Undergraduate class performance – Students’ performance in their previous academic year in their bachelors’ degree program is another parameter taken into consideration. Thus, the marks or GPA percentage obtained plays a significant role of deciding between candidates on the shortlist.

- Academic background in the relevant subject – Concerning whether the applicant has an undergraduate degree in the subject area of the specific MA discipline they are applying for it often influences the evaluation, particularly when the program is highly specialized.

HC New Delhi B.Sc Selection Criteria

1. Score gotten in Class 12th exams- The candidates should be matriculates and must pass their 12th class exams with minimum cut-off percentages and the percentage may differ according to the subjects. This reveals that the more the percentages are the higher the chances one will be selected.

2. The subjects that are being offered to students in their final year in school, which is the 12th class - Science and commerce students have separate pass percentages as cut offs for admissions. The students should have studied the relevant subjects which enables them to have a background knowledge of the information that is being passed to them.


3. Best 4 subjects percentage- Admissions are taken purely on merit i.e., percentage in the best four subjects in the XII standard examination. These can range from physics, chemistry, mathematics/biology, English and many more.

4. 12th Board- These cuts off differ depending on the school education boards such as the CBSE, ISC, and State Boards, etc. 

5. Reservation criteria- Some of the percentage of the seats are reserved for the categories such as SC, ST, OBC and PwD etc., that are provided by the government. The certificates are expected from the applicants in the course of the program.
