Loyola College Chennai is one of the premier institutions for higher learning in India, it is a private, self governing college which is under the University of Madras. It was established in 1925 it has been approved by UGC and got accredited by NAAC in 2023 with a grade A++ and CGPA of 3.70. According to NIRF rankings of 2023, Loyola College has positioned in 7th Rank in College Category in India.

The college provides numerous  undergraduate, postgraduate, and research programs in various fields of study including natural sciences, commerce, arts, social work, business administration, and etc. These range from the undergraduate programs such as the BA Economics, BSc Visual Communication, BCom Finance among others and the postgraduate courses that include the MSc Software Systems, MA English, MSW Social Work and MBA Business Administration among others. Loyola College Chennai is one of the top autonomous colleges in Chennai for education in arts, science, and commerce with a range of undergraduate, postgraduate, and research courses. The college offers undergraduate level courses with 16 undergraduate degree in disciplines such as BA, BSc., BCom, BBA, integrated courses, etc. There are also 14 postgraduate programs for masters degree like MSc, MA, MCom, MBA, and others.
