Computer Science and Engineering Department accepts the JEE Main, AIEEE & IIT-JEE exams for admission to the 4 years full time BTech in Computer Science & Engineering. M.Tech in Computer Science is offered by the Computer Science department of the university and there is provision of admission through GATE/NET. Electronics department also offers M.Tech in VLSI Design, GATE score is considered as the criteria for admission. Civil Engineering department offers M.Tech in Structural Engineering, and for admission, one has to qualify GATE. Mechanical Engineering department offers M.Tech in Thermal Engineering/Manufacturing Systems Engineering where GATE scores will be considered. 1. JEE Main Rank: For admission to the said programs, the candidates will require to have a valid rank in JEE Main. But students having higher ranks are given preference in admission.
2. Class 12th Percentage: For the post of Teachers, the eligibility criteria include minimum 60% marks in Class 12 exams (55% for SC/ST candidates). Hiring managers prefer those with higher percentages of actual work experience in their field.
3. Entrance Test: The students who have been selected on the basis of their ranks obtained in JEE have to sit for another test that is being held by MAIT. Grading in this test has been deemed useful or important or has been given some kind of value or importance such as being part of the overall assessment of a subject.
4. Interview: Subsequently and before the final selection, an interview test is carried out on the candidates. The interview signifies other aspects besides academic performance.
5. Final Merit List: According to the provisions of the above criteria, MAIT forwards the common merit list along with the inter-se merit of the candidates for B.Tech admissions. Here the candidates are given ranks and according to these ranks the number of seats to be admitted are given to the candidates.
6. Seat Availability: The admission of the candidate is also contingent upon the availability of space in the concerned B.Tech specialization applied by the candidate.
