RCC Institute of Information Technology Kolkata provides a wide range of number of undergraduate and postgraduate programs in streams like Engineering, Technology, Management, Computer Applications, Pharmacy, etc. Computer Science and Engineering department provides undergraduate program known as BTech with the requirement of passing Class 12 in science stream with minimum 60% and perusing a valid entrance test such as WBJEE. To take admission in the BTech Computer Science course, students are required to have passed the JEE Main/WBJEE/JEE Advanced exams. Pharmacy department provides undergraduate BPharm and postgraduate MPharm The eligibilities that are required for BPharm are 50% marks in class 12 science subjects and for MPharm minimum 55% aggregate in BPharm are mandatory. While taking admission MBA department accepted CAT/MAT score along with minimum 50% in Bachelor’s degree. The BCA department gives admission purely on merit basis, admissions are offered for students who have 50% marks in Class 12 in any stream.
The programme and courses of RCC Institute of Information Technology for the admission of the year 2024 includes – BTech in CSE, Civil, Electrical, Electronics & Com/ Mech with WBJEE exam date April 23rd 2024 offline mode. BPharm and MPharm in Pharmacy offer April WBPGET and GPAT exam dates. MCA, BCA have June APICET exam for admission into their respective courses. Hence, MBA admission for the course is done based on the score gotten in the CAT. The admission process includes registration, application with the documents required and qualifying for admission, taking the entrance examination if required for the respective program and undergoing the different levels of counseling and then finalizing the admission process. The institute provides contact for admission related enquires and the admission process is fully online through the website of the institute. To apply for it online, one has to go to the official website of the institution that is www.rcciitk.ac.in and select the option of ‘Admission’. Choose the wanted course and then complete the application form online as the instructions mention. Upload scanned copies of photograph, signature and any other document required as part of the application process, i.e., Application Fees can be paid through Net Banking / Credit Card / Debit Card.
For the offline process of application submission, students can download it from the official website of the institute or/and get it manually from the institute office. The application form is to be duly filled in with the copies of documents enclosed and the application fee (can be paid through Demand Draft) must be paid at the Administrative Department of RCCIIT Kolkata within the prescribed date and time. Applicants who will submit the applications after these dates will not be considered.
Documents Required for Admission in RCCIIT Kolkata for Different Courses:
- The admission here depends on the rank of the candidate in the West Bengal Joint Entrance Examination known as WBJEE. Finally, RCCIIT is one of the WBJEE counselling participating organizations.
- To get admitted, candidates should have passed 10+2 or equivalent examination with Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics & English as subjects of cores.
- The WBJEE board releases cut-off ranks for different categories of the students this being the primary factor considered when admitting the students. It is mandatory and only those candidates who have got through with the cut-off rank as per the category they belong to are allowed.
- It has been observed that the seats are allocated through counselling with due consideration of WBJEE rank, category rank, choices exercised and the availability of such seats.
- If a candidate has been given a seat they are expected to pay the admission fees and submit other documents that the institution may deem necessary within a given timeline.
- Even though the institute offer admission to students based on merit they still set aside some seats for management quota. It is also possible that admission to these seats will be in different ways or even cost a different amount of fees.
1. Application Mode: You have to fill the form online on the official website of the college- www.iiitkolkata.ac.in. Interestingly, there is no offline application process, so the only way to apply is through the website.
2. Eligibility: You must have the following minimum academic qualification: You should have completed 10+2 or equivalent examination in any group with minimum 60% marks in aggregate. It is also important to possess a JEE Main score in order to be eligible for admission. International students and foreign national students also have different criteria of eligibility for admission.
3. Important Dates: This is normally during April/May and lasts up to June. The specific dates are then made available in the website.
4. Application Fee: The candidates are required to deposit Rs. 600 as the processing fee which is non-refundable and to be paid online during the form fill up. SC/ST candidates are exempted.
5. Selection Process: These ranks are used to shortlist the candidates which are conducted based on the JEE Main ranks. The counseling session follows where shortlisted candidates may be required to attend counseling rounds before admissions are granted based on JEE Main ranks, preferences for institution, number of seats available etc.
6. Documents Required: Counselling time the original documents needed are 10th and 12+2 marksheets, JEE Main score card, passport photos, reservations certificates (if applicable) etc.
- Engineering admission is entirely meritorious, and students are admitted based on the ranks obtained in WBJEE or JEE Main. These examinations must be passed in order to take a separate entrance exam for RCCIIT.
- In the case of seats falling under state quota, separate merit lists are then prepared with reference to the WBJEE ranks obtained by the candidates. Management quota seats are offered for which merit lists are prepared from the ranks attained in JEE Main.
- Apart from the ranks secured in the entrance examination, the candidate also has to fulfill certain criteria as laid down by the West Bengal University of Technology relating to their academic performances or domicile etc.
- The entrance test ranking and the marks scored in the 10 + 2 board examination is also considered as the minimum aggregate percentage is considered. There may also be criterion that pertain to the subjects that were undertaken as part of 10+2.
- There are supernumerary seats and special criteria for admission such as children of ex-serviceman, physically challenged etc.
- Awards have to furnish some documents and also clear the fee structure within the time frame provided by the institute in the admission process.

4. Pay Application Fee-The form cannot be filed without an application fee payment. You can pay this either through net banking, credit card or any other payment option available in the payment gateways of the portal.
5. Track Application Status - To check the status of your B.Tech application after having applied go to the portal. Look at the list of deficiencies and see if there has been any comment or if there is any other documentation that is required.
