Silicon Institute of Technology (SIT), an autonomous private institute was established in the year 1997 in Bhubaneswar, Odisha, majoring in technical education. SIT was established in 2001 and today it is one of the leading universities offering undergraduate and postgraduate studies in engineering, science and management. Independent NAAC accreditation has graded it at A grade, and in the NIRF 2023 ranking of engineering colleges, it stands at 139. SIT awards Bachelor of Technology degrees in Computer Science Engineering, Electronics & Communication Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Civil Engineering and a host of others. It also has M.Tech, MCA, and MBA courses as well as programs in Architecture, Computer Science & Engineering, Electronics & Communications Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Biotechnology and Biosciences, Instrumentation & Control, Computer Science & Business Systems, Telecommunications Science & Technology, Applied Electronics, Information Technology, Visual Communication, Biomedical Engineering, and Applied Psychology, among others. The institute adheres to an academic year in which odd-semesters such as 1st, 3rd, 5th and 7th semester exams are conducted in the Months of November, December respectively. However, even semesters such as the 2nd, 4th, the 6th and the 8th semester end with their exams in April-May. It is to be noted that the admissions for 2024 batch are likely to commence from February 2023. To seek admission in any programme at SIT, students have to write entrance tests like OJEE, JEE Main or the SiTEE conducted by SIT. Therefore criteria for selection shall be National level/state level ranks as well as academic performance.

Silicon Institute of Technology Eligibility Criteria 2024 (by Departments)

1. The candidates should have done their 10+2 or similar examination from any central or state board with a minimum of 50% in total, physics, chemistry and mathematics combined. 

2. In case of B.Tech courses, the candidate should have obtained minimum 60% marks in mathematics, physics and chemistry of 10+2 examination. For lateral entry, candidates should have passed diploma in the related field.

3. The requirement to fill the M.Tech admission form is a B.E./B.Tech having passed in any of the relevant fields with the minimum of 60% marks or equivalent CGPA from any University. GATE qualified candidates are preferred out of all the candidates available in the market.  

4. Applicants with a minimum of 50% aggregate marks in any graduate discipline are eligible to seek admissions in MBA. Final year degree students can apply with a provision certificate. 

5. Many executive MBA programs require work experience, although the typical length of work experience varies from program to program. Holders of PGDM ex must have at least 3 years of work experience while MBA ex program must have at least 5 years of work experience.

Silicon Institute of Technology (SIT) is an institution that provides B.Tech/M.Tech, B.Arch/M.Arch, BCA/MCA, M.Sc, MBA, M.Tech, M.Phil and Ph.D. courses in the disciplines of engineering, technology, management, sciences, architecture and humanities. SIT has an advantage in having a majority of its courses designed to be industry-focused with emphasis on practical experience.
