Vasavi College of Engineering located at Hyderabad is one of the most popular colleges for engineering education in India providing several undergraduate engineering courses in different disciplines. The Computer Science Department at the said Institute has a course of BTech in Computer Science, which has the eligibility of passing 12th with 60 percentage (Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics) for the general category students and 50 percentage for SC/ST students. To get admission in EAMCET or JEE Main or to Vasavi University Medical, the students have to clear their respective entrance exams. BTech in Electronics and Communication Engineering is offered to the students through the same entrance examination by the electronics and communication department of the institute and the eligibility criteria are 60% marks in 12th Physics, Chemistry, and Maths for general category students and 50% for SC/ ST/ OBC/ PwD category students. The Civil Engineering department offers the BTech in Civil Engineering and admission to this program also has the same requirements as mentioned above with EAMCET and JEE being acceptable. Other programmes too have the same criterion of eligibility through accepted entrance tests such as the mechanical engineering department, electrical engineering department, and chemical engineering department.
It should be noted that all the BTech courses offered in Vasavi College of Engineering take four years. The important exams for 2024 admission are EAMCET holds in last week of April 2024 and the JEE Main exam held in the month of January & April 2024. Vasavi also holds its own entrance examination in engineering which is conducted in the month of May in every year. The admission process after exam includes registration for admission, counselling session, admission by paying the fees, submitting the necessary documents and joining the college before the session starts in the third week of August 2024. The admission criteria is entrance exam scores and 12th percentage criterion for students of any stream to get into specific department and the engineering programs that this college offers.
Vasavi College of Engineering commonly known as VCE is situated in Hyderabad, the capital city of Telangana state in Southern India, and offers education in engineering at the undergraduate and postgraduate levels. Those who wish to enroll for VCE can do so by either an online application or by a paper-based application.
Those who wish to apply online must go to the specialised VCE’s website www.vce.ac.in and navigate to the admission’s page. Choose the course in which they want to enroll, fill up the application form and attach scanned copies of documents such as photograph, signature and education certificates etc The application fee can be paid through net banking/debit card/ credit card.
Process for filling up of Admission Form online Read the instructions carefully before filling up the form:
- The admission is being offered to a particular course and the eligibility depends on the student’s performance in the Telangana State Engineering, Agriculture & Medical (Pharmacy, Veterinary etc.) Common Entrance Test (TS EAMCET). This is a state-level entrance exam for admission to Under Graduate courses in Engineering and Technology conducted by Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University Hyderabad.
- Apart from the TS EAMCET rank, the merit list also includes the student’s performance in their intermediate course (Class 12). The entrance examination carries 70% weight while the second weightage is the candidate’s marks in the intermediate examination.
- There are also some seat reservations with regards to the GOVERNMENT SEATS – 31% for OCs, 34% for BCs, 15% for SCs, 6% for STs and few seats for the special categories.
1. Check if you meet the eligibility criteria: Candidate should have passed 10+2 intermediate examination with Physics, Chemistry & Mathematics as main subjects. You should have passed the final examination of the CMJ with at least 45% of the aggregate marks (40% for reserved categories).
2. Obtain the application form: It is available at the college website www.vce.ac.in, or else you can directly purchase it in the college with the necessary charges.
3. Fill the application: As per the instructions, input all the necessary information including academic achievement, contact information, etc. The next step is to put your photograph into this particular region.
4. Attach necessary documents: This means attaching copies of the mark sheets of 10th and 12th standards, community/caste certificate if any etc.
5. Pay application fee: You can pay when filling the form online OR by DD in favour of “Principal, Vasavi College of Engineering” to be payable at Hyderabad.
6. Submit the completed application: It can be electronically tendered online/mailed or personally handed to the admission office of the college or university before the due date.
7. Check admission status: The candidates selected will be published on the college website and the notice board. You will also receive intimation letter for counseling/admission if passed for the same.
8. Go for counseling sessions as planned and undergo admission procedures by paying/remitting fees, submitting genuine certificates and enrolling for the program.
- The admissions are centralized and depends on the students EAMCET rank conducted by the JNTU of Telangana State for Engineering, Agriculture & Medical streams. This is an entrance exam at state level for admission to engineering colleges.
- Student after EAMCET results are declared the students have to undergo web counselling and the seat fill up is done as per the merit list filled by the students.
- In some branches, there is also management quota for seats and admissions may be granted on the basis of marks secured in 10+2 or any other entrance examination.
- For SC, ST, OBC reserved seats there will be a quota system which is generally more lenient than the regular process in terms of EAMCET ranks/scores set by the government.
- Apart from academic achievements, qualifying examination marks and valid EAMCET score & rank are pre-requisites for admission to BE courses in Vasavi College.

Ensure you are qualified – To be a student in civil engineering, the candidate must have sat and passed his/her final examination in secondary school or its equivalent with credits in Physics, chemistry and mathematics. The candidates should have obtained 45% marks in aggregate (40% in case of SC/ST/PwD category).
2. Get the application form – There is a section on the college website at www.vce.ac.in where you can download the form, or you can get a hard copy of the application form from the college admission office.
3. Complete the application form as much as you can - Enter right details about yourself, your academic data, preferred B.E. branch and specialization if any.
4. Add required documents – Please make sure to add scanned copies of your 10th and 12th standard mark sheets, caste certificate in case applying for a reserved category. Attach recent color photographs.
5. Fees for the Application - The application fees can be paid through online using credit/debit card/net banking or through demand draft drawn in favor of ‘Principal, Vasavi College of Engineering’ a Hyderabad only.
6. After filling the application form - This completed application form should be forwarded to the admission office either hand-delivered or by post/courier before the stipulated dates.
