B.Sc Applied Physics is an undergraduate program of 3 years duration that provides knowledge of physics and its applications in technology and engineering. The courses offered are the basic physics courses such as mechanics, electromagnetism, thermodynamics and other specific areas of; electronics, medical physics, nuclear physics and nanotechnology among others besides the practical sessions in laboratories. Students gain both theoretical and practical knowledge to address principles of physics in industries and technology as well as other fields of study.
The admission requirements to B.Sc Applied Physics include passing the NEET, JEE Main, AP EAMCET, UPSEE, GATE, and state level examinations. Certain institutes also look into the candidate’s performance in the 12th standard board examinations. Minimum entry requirement is completion of 12th Science or equivalent with main subjects being Physics, Chemistry & Mathematics optional. Most of the colleges have separate standards which include the minimum scores in the entrance test and equally important, minimum marks in 12th standard examination.
