Baba Ghulam Shah Badshah University also referred to as BGSBU is a state university located in the state of Jammu and Kashmir in India. This institution has affiliation with the University Grants Commission (UGC) and holds B++ accreditation by the NAAC. According to the NIRF Rankings 2023, the BGSBU has been placed in the 101-150 band in the category of universities in India.
The university has a diverse learning programmes offered in the fields of engineering and technology, science, arts, business, education, law and many others Some of the more popular programs are the BTech, MTech, BSc, MSc, BA, MA, MBA, BEd, LLB and so on. Regarding the admission process, it is noted that it begins in May every year. In case of admission in the 2024 batch, application process might be expected during May 2023. The end semester exams are taken in the months of November-December and May-June usually.

The maximum salary package in the year 2022 was about 18 lakhs per annum and the average of salaries offered was about 6 lakhs per annum. Baba Ghulam Shah Badshah University Eligibility Criteria 2024 (by Departments)
1. The candidate must have cleared his / her 10+2 or equivalent examination from any recognized central or state board of education and the minimum passing percentage will depend on the course of one’s choice. Generally 50-60% aggregate required.
2. For admission to the various BTech programmes, candidate must have passed 10+2 examination with Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics as optional subjects. It is necessary that the aggregate should be at least 50-60% in these subjects.
3. For admission to BA/BSc/BCom programs, candidate should have completed 10+2 examination in respective stream. Arts/Science/Commerce subjects needed in 10+2 as per programs Arts/Science/Commerce subjects needed in 10+2 as per programs
4. Some programs such as BCA have Mathematics as one of the compulsory subjects in 10+2 stage. At least criteria relating to aggregate minimum of 50-60% to be acceptable.
5. The government of India from time to time may allow some relaxation to the candidates belonging to the reserved category, in terms of percentile also. SC/ST may be given 5 to 10 percent Bench Marking relaxation.
6. It has been seen that the final selection of the prospective candidates is made on the basis of their 10+2 scores. Some programs offer entrance tests that students have to complete. Self-administered interviews may however be conducted for some programs.

There is a very functional placement cell in Baba Ghulam Shah Badshah University which provides the faculty for interviews and recruitments for final semester students. Some of the leading companies that come to our college for placements and internship are TATA consultancy services, Infosys, Wipro, Tech Mahindra, Accenture and many more. The maximum salary that was provided in the placement drive for the year 2021 was Rs 18 lakh per annum by Microsoft. The salary offer starts from Rs 4-6 lakh per annum for the regular courses and around Rs 6-8 lakh per annum for the management courses. Approximately 65% of the students appeared for campus interviews were successfully placed in IT companies and several core engineering sectors. With the increase in the number of companies coming to the campus for placements the placement record has also been climbing.
