Delhi University or DU is a massive university in Delhi offering many undergraduate and postgraduate programs in humanities and sciences, engineering, law, commerce, etc. Some of the most popular undergraduate courses in DU are BA (Hons) in English, Political Science, Economics, History, etc. BCom (Hons), BSc (Hons) Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, etc. The universities have their eligibility criteria for each department and course. The university offers over 80 departments for Undergraduate program courses in its campus. The eligibility criteria tend to differ from one department to another as does the course. To get admission in B.A. Honors in Political Science, one must score more than 45% mark in the 12th standard exam from any recognized board like CBSE, ICSE etc. For B.Sc. It is mandatory for Honors in Physics, students to have minimum 60% of marks in Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics in class 12th affiliated to CBSE, ICSE or Their respective State Boards. Admissions to B.Com Honors are made on the basis of class 12th examination marks for students from CBSE, ICSE, and state education boards with an aggregate of 55%. Mass Communication B.A. Honors course requires 50% in class 12 in any stream including Science, Commerce & Humanities from any board recognized by Indian Government.

PhD programs are available in several departments at DU, and the university caters to students hailing from diverse fields. DU has set the following criteria to apply for the PhD course: The applicant must be a holder of a Master’s degree in any field with at least 55% marks or an equivalent grade. Certain departments may also have specific prerequisites that need to be met before a student can be placed in that department. For instance, to teach at Ph.D. level in Commerce, the candidate should have cleared UGC NET/JRF or passed the SET/SLET examination. The eligibility for Department of English is clear through the UGC NET, UGC JRF, UGC CSIR NET, or ICMR JRF score cards are accepted while the eligibility for PhD in Political Science is clear through NET, SLET or the test conducted by the department of Political Science. Many of the science departments including Physics, Chemistry, Zoology, etc., admit their students on basis of their performance on CSIR UGC NET, UGC NET, GATE or any equivalent exam.
