Delhi University or DU is a massive university in Delhi offering many undergraduate and postgraduate programs in humanities and sciences, engineering, law, commerce, etc. Some of the most popular undergraduate courses in DU are BA (Hons) in English, Political Science, Economics, History, etc. BCom (Hons), BSc (Hons) Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, etc. The universities have their eligibility criteria for each department and course. For admission to BA (Hons) programs, students should have minimum 50% marks in their 12th standard examination conducted by any recognized board. The percentage of marks obtained in class 12th with Mathematics is mandatory for BCom, with a minimum aggregate of 60% marks. The required qualification for BSc admissions are 12th standard pass with Physics, Chemistry, Math/Biology/Computer Science for the respected honors subject and minimum 60% in the aggregate. DU accepts other national level exam scores for admission such as CBSE,ISC etc. Some of these courses also admit the candidate’s scores in examinations such as CLAT, AIEEE etc.

The details that are required to fill while entering the portal involves the name of the person, e-mail ID, mobile number etc. After entering all the required detail, a user ID and password will be created automatically which can be used to login. Register with the University by completing the application form and providing personal, academic and program information. Properly scan photographs and other documents that are relevant to the application. Pay the application fee through online credit/debit card, net banking etc.; You may take the print out of the completed form and keep it for further use.

The university offers over 80 departments for Undergraduate program courses in its campus. The eligibility criteria tend to differ from one department to another as does the course. To get admission in B.A. Honors in Political Science, one must score more than 45% mark in the 12th standard exam from any recognized board like CBSE, ICSE etc. For B.Sc. It is mandatory for Honors in Physics, students to have minimum 60% of marks in Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics in class 12th affiliated to CBSE, ICSE or Their respective State Boards. Admissions to B.Com Honors are made on the basis of class 12th examination marks for students from CBSE, ICSE, and state education boards with an aggregate of 55%. Mass Communication B.A. Honors course requires 50% in class 12 in any stream including Science, Commerce & Humanities from any board recognized by Indian Government.
Delhi University has a wide range of programs for the undergraduate level and they range in fields such as humanities, commerce, sciences, engineering, and medical sciences. Such programs are popular under graduate courses like B.A. programs in Economics, History, English and B.Com. Honors. Major B.Sc. All the UG admission at DU are entrance test based and the tests taken include CUET, JAT BMS, BBA FIITJEE and departmental test.
Postgraduate programs are offered in all departments of Delhi University (DU) for students with an interest in pursuing higher education. The DU PG programs offer certain conditions that must be met by candidates such as having a bachelor’s degree in the concerned subject, with specific percentage of marks as prescribed by the respective department, clearing entrance exams like DUET, JNUEE, UGC NET etc. For example, School of Economics, required 50% marks in B.A. Economics and passed DUET, School of Political Science, requires graduation in any stream with 50% Department of Statistics holds admission for graduation in Statistics Maths having 55% marks. MSc Physics and MTech programs for instance have entry tests in the form of JEST and GATE qualification.
DU offers roughly 222 PG programmes and streams in faculties such as Arts, Mathematical Sciences, Social Sciences, Applied & Developmental Social Sciences & Humanities, Commerce & Business Studies, Education, Interdisciplinary & Applied Sciences, Law, Management, Music & Visual Arts, etc. For DU PG admission, it is open to students through national level entrance examinations UGC NET, JNUEE, DUET, IIT JAM, JEST.
PhD programs are available in several departments at DU, and the university caters to students hailing from diverse fields. DU has set the following criteria to apply for the PhD course: The applicant must be a holder of a Master’s degree in any field with at least 55% marks or an equivalent grade. Certain departments may also have specific prerequisites that need to be met before a student can be placed in that department. For instance, to teach at Ph.D. level in Commerce, the candidate should have cleared UGC NET/JRF or passed the SET/SLET examination. The eligibility for Department of English is clear through the UGC NET, UGC JRF, UGC CSIR NET, or ICMR JRF score cards are accepted while the eligibility for PhD in Political Science is clear through NET, SLET or the test conducted by the department of Political Science. Many of the science departments including Physics, Chemistry, Zoology, etc., admit their students on basis of their performance on CSIR UGC NET, UGC NET, GATE or any equivalent exam.
DU gives admission twice a year for full-time and part-time PhD programmes in Commerce, Economics, Life, Physical and Social Sciences, Arts, Management and Education stream besides Biotechnology, Engineering, Medical and other applied sciences.
