GITAM University is an internationally premier private deemed university situated in Visakhapatnam, Andhra Pradesh. It was started in the year 1980 and is accredited by the University Grant Commission (UGC) and approved by the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE). GITAM has been accredited by NAAC for the prestigious ‘A+’ grade in the year 2018. While the NIRF rankings 2023 were published, GITAM University was placed in the 101-150 band overall and 51 among universities.
Programs offered by GITAM include Under Graduate, Post Graduate, and Doctorate programs in faculties of Engineering & Technology, Pharmacy, Science, Management, Law, Architecture, Nursing, Physiotherapy. Undergraduate and postgraduate programs in most disciplines offer admission through national level tests such as JEE Main, GATE, CAT, MAT, NPAT, CLAT. GITAM University Eligibility Criteria 2024 (by Departments)
1. 10+2 pass in science/ commerce/ humanities based on the program having a minimum percentage which differs from program to program.
2. This may include marks obtained in the qualifying examinations like JEE Main, TS EAMCET, NEET for engineering, pharmacy, architecture, medical.
3. Minimum percentage marks in graduation degree to be possessed for postgraduate programs
4. Executive education programs’ require work experience – mostly ranging from 2 to 5 years of experience and relevant to the program.
5. No age limit. Facilities to the reserved category as per norms.
6. Scores on indicators of English language proficiency such as IELTS/TOEFL for foreign students desiring to pursue their courses.
GITAM University Placements 2024
GITAM University has a good placement record in many fields of the industry which makes it more popular among students. Nearly all the IT giants including Infosys, TCS, Wipro, Cognizant and Accenture visit the campus every year for placement. The highest salary package for placement in the year 2023 was offered by Microsoft at Rs 43,33,000 per annum. Indeed the average salary package offered to the IT / CSE pass outs was Rs 6.5 lakh per annum. MBA students received the highest salary of Rs 20 lakh per annum, although the average was only Rs 7 lakh per annum.
