Harcourt Butler Technological University or HBTU is an eminent technological and research facility situated in the city of Kanpur in Uttar Pradesh. With its origin in 2016, HBTU has turned into one of the prominent tech universities of the country. This course is recognized and accredited by the University Grants Commission of India (UGC) and the All Indian Institute of Technical Education (AICTE). HBTU has been accredited by the National Assessment and Accreditation Council and has bags the grade ‘A’. As per NIRF rankings 2023, which were released recently, HBTU has been ranked at 65th out of all the universities in India.

Harcourt Butler Technological University Eligibility Criteria 2024 (by Departments)

1. Fulfillment of the following criteria is essential; the candidate must have passed 10+2 or equivalent examination with not less than 50 % aggregate marks (45% for SC/ST) in the relevant stream, to be able to pursue an undergraduate engineering and technology course. 

2. For the B. Tech programs, it is mandatory for the candidate to have Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry as the main subjects in the 10+2 examination. Consequently, for other programs, there is need to demonstrate academic background in the specific area of specialization.

3. Final year students who are candidates of final year of the qualifying examination are also eligible to apply but the mark sheets have to be furnished at the time of commencement of classes. 

4. For postgraduate course, where ever required, the candidate must have passed the bachelor’s degree examination from a recognized university with not less than 50 percent marks (45 percent marks in case of SC/ST/OBC) in aggregate.  

5. Sponsored candidates require work experience as a prerequisite. Programs may differ as to sequence of experience.

6. Basically, in order to qualify for the entrance examination, it is compulsory to obtain a minimum score as set by the institutions concerned. University accepts GATE/JEE Main etc. The cutoff may increase or decrease every year based on the new results.
