The process of admission includes applying for the course, the candidate writing an entrance exam suited to the course, registration for counseling, exercising options for seats, getting an allotment of the seat, and confirmation of admission by paying fees. The admission schedule and course- wise admission procedure is communicated to the students by HPTU through the website.
Himachal Pradesh Technical University (HPTU), Hamirpur: Admission Procedure: The admission procedure to the various undergraduate and postgraduate programs offered at HPTU, Hamirpur can be either online or offline. Those students in search of admission can go through their official site of HPTU which is www.himtu.ac.in to view the admission notification and apply for the course concerned.
The candidate will register themselves on the admission portal of HPTU and fill the online admission form as per the details given below. They then required to complete an online application form and will be required to upload documents like photographs, signatures, educational certificates etc as per the requirement. Application fees can be paid through credit / debit cards, net banking etc.
For offline admission the students have to download the prescribed Application form only available on our website only. The filled-up form, accompanied by necessary documents and an application fee, should be posted to a university main campus or affiliated colleges by the mentioned deadlines. It has an intake capacity of 4times number of students enrolled in HPTU, and admission is given according to merit list defined by HPTU for different programs. The final selection list is posted on the official website www.nitj.ac.in and on the campus notice board.
- It is a merit based college as far as the admission process is concerned, which depends on the score obtained in the JEE Main. To get admission in HPTU, candidates have to get through JEE Main and then they have to fill separate entrance examination form for HPTU.
- It is usually advertised through the university websites in May/ June of each year. Documents required include JEE Main score card, mark sheet/ pass certificate of 10+2 examination etc.
- In total, the university offers approximately 2000 seats across diverse BTech disciplines. This means it covers university seats in its departments, colleges affiliated to the university etc.
- Campus favorites for the BTech include Computer Science, Electrical, Electronics, Mechanical, Civil Engineering among others due to the number of seats available.
- In general, all the admission lists are announced in three to four phases that are within the period of July-August with reference to the merit list. Counselling happens concurrently.
- It costs between 50000 to 150000 per annum depending on the college or university and the course that is to be pursued. There are extra hostel /mess charges for those who stay on the compound.
- The BTech programmes in HPTU are offered based on the scores secured in the state level entrance test known as HP PAT (Himachal Pradesh Polytechnic Admission Test). To be considered for some or any of the BTech branches and colleges, candidates must sit for the exam and obtain marks higher than the set cutoff.
- Admission is also offered as per the marks in national level entrance tests like JEE Main. It also important to note that cut-off marks depend on the program or category of students as well as year of entry.
- A weight of 60% is allotted to the PAT entrance exam and 40% is assigned to the qualifying examination, which is the 12th class.
- Students get their seats allotted by the counseling authorities once the results of the entrance test are out, according to their preferences, ranks, categories and so on.
- Besides these requirements, there are others on age, education etc that have to be met by the candidates.
1. Find out when the application period begins for B.Tech through visiting the university website or through the newspaper for notices posted. This is usually in May/June most of the time since this is the time when most universities and colleges are closing their academic years.
2. After applications, go to the university’s website and look for the online application form to apply for B.Tech.

8. In case you are selected for counselling rounds you have to produce originals and allotment letters for the final admission process.

- In this institute admissions are given on merit basis in the qualifying examination that is 10+2 (PCM/B) or any other examination as equivalent thereto.
- The applications are done through notifications from the universities normally communicated in May/June. This notification also provides information regarding the dates, the requirement for admission, any entrance tests held if any, counseling process etc.

- Counselling is done on the basis of plus two marks and preference for the colleges indicated by the candidates during counselling sessions. In certain situations, an entrance examination might also be administered as well.
- Admission is given strictly on merit in 10+2 or its equivalent examination with Physics, chemistry, Biology / Mathematics.
- For the candidates who have passed 10+2 from other states, the eligibility criteria will be according to the Pharmacy Council of India Act & rules of PCI.
- To get admission in HPTU Hamirpur in B.Pharm courses, there is no entrance exam. It follows the direct admission process from class 10 and 12 with an emphasis on the marks obtained in the exams.
- The cut-off marks range from minimum aggregate required for the course to be offered and this depends on the year being considered. The percentage demanded by general category candidates is more than the reserved category of candidates.
- Apart from having the appropriate grades to successfully obtain PCI requirements, candidate’s should also fulfill other qualifications concerning their age, health and so on.
- Distribution of seats is as follows, Merit and also the reservation for categories like SC/ST as per the government rules. Section 27 Counseling is done to assign places to the selected candidates.
1. Read the latest updates on the official website of the university at www.himtu.ac.in to get the notification and the form to apply for B.Pharm. This is usually released in May/June and serves as a guideline on the performance of schools in the country.

For online applications – the applicants can scan their documents and upload them online, they can also make the payment of the application fees through the payment gateways available online and finally they can also submit the form before the last date. 6. In case shortlisted, take the university entrance test and/or counseling rounds where necessary, on the dates available. It can be said that they are selected on merit.

- HPTU is affiliated to four constituent colleges that offer MBA program as HPTU Business School Hamirpur and HPTU Business School JNGEC Sundernagar.
- Eligibility criteria also demands the applicant possessing a bachelor’s degree with not less than 50% marks (45% for SC/ST). Final year students can also apply for the post of Assistant Professor.
- It will be on the basis of HP-CET followed by GD and Personal Interview conducted by the university.
- For most of the programmes, the application is in the month of March-April and the final list of selected students is declared in July-August for the new academic session beginning in August-September.
- The annual intake of MBA seats in the two colleges is almost 120. Some of the specializations the school provides are; Marketing, finance, human resource, operation, amongst others.
- It has not been released yet as to when the admission for 2024 is to start and the prospectus for the 2024 but the information is expected to be published soon on the HPTU website.
1. The admission to MBA program is the common entrance test called HPTech CET held at the state level. Candidates are also required to take and pass this exam with the cutoff marks that have been set for them.
2. As said earlier, candidates who meet the criteria set by HPTech CET are selected for the counseling process from where they are placed depending on the scores and ranks they obtained in the examination.
3. Towards the end of counseling, candidates require to select their preferred MBA specialization and college according to the CET ranks secured by them. Students get to choose their preferences, based on the merit and the availability of the seats through this counseling.
4. Some of the key parameters that determine MBA admissions at HPTU include: This involves HPTech CET scores, qualifying exam scores, Group discussion and Personal interview performance, work experience etc.
5. Selection is however done based on the final merit list and the candidates who meet the eligibility criteria established by HPTU in terms of education Academic qualifications, age, domicile etc.

6. In case the candidate gets shortlisted then he or she has to undergo group discussion followed by a personal interview if any. Check admission schedule.
7. The final merit list is published on the website of the concerned University or College. It is important to check if you are among the selected candidates.
8. If selected, submit any other documents/fees as per direction and to affirm the admission by the due date.
9. Proceed to the respective department to follow up on the enrollment process during the orientation process.
- HPTU provides MPharm courses in three majors of Pharmaceutical Chemistry, Pharmacology, and Pharmaceutics.
- Seemingly, the candidate’s performance in the Himachal Pradesh Combined Entrance Test (HPCET) organized by the university is the major factor considered while admitting students.
- The specific admission and examination dates for the MPharm programs for the 2023-2024 academic year are not yet known to the university. From prior years schedules, the HPCET exam had been conducted in the month of June.
- The counseling sessions are conducted in July/August of the academic year after the HPCET exam to fill the seats under different categories which includes merit, preferences and availability. Once a seat has been assigned to a student, then it will be required that the student follow the laid down admission procedures.
- The eligibility criteria mostly include possessing a BPharm degree with 55% aggregate percentage or 50% for SC/ST category (For more details regarding the eligibility criteria, interested and eligible candidates can refer the official notification). Another aspect that is taken into consideration is the experience: two years of relevant work experience is also considered for applicants.
1. As mentioned before, visit the university website or the advertisement to look for the notification concerning M.Pharm admission. It is usually produced and released in the middle of the year, precisely, during the period of April and May.
2. Once this notification is out, apply online or download the application form for M.Pharm. There will be a mandatory application fee that will be charged to the applicants.
3. Complete the form as it is and every details such as personal information, educational information, phone numbers etc as required.
4. The applicants are supposed to enclose some documents along with the filled-in application form such as photocopies of 10th and 12th mark sheets, Graduation/B.Other relevant documents such as Pharm mark sheets, Category certificate if any etc.
5. The completed application form along with the fee and the documents should be either, uploaded to the concerned link or, send to the university before the last date mentioned in the notification.
6. Take the entrance exam/counseling rounds as per the dates prescribed if not exempted on the basis of score/rank.
7. Visit the university office to view the list of students selected for admission to determine whether one has been selected or not. If the candidate is selected, the process of admission has to be undertaken if all the requirements that are required before one can be accepted in the institution have been met within the required time.
8. Proceed to the indicated department to go through the final stages of admission. You also need to pay the admission fee to secure a place in the university.
