IIIT Manipur is one of the Institute of National Importance which has been established by the Ministry of Education, Government of India. AICTE and UGC approved college and institute gives it recognition. IIIT Manipur has also got NAAC Grade A accreditation currently, and according to NIRF Ranking 2023, IIIT Manipur is ranked 65th among all the Engineering Institutes in India.
The institute provides the undergraduate programme of BTech in Computer Science and Engineering, Electronics and Communication Engineering and Mechanical Engineering. It is also involved in offering an MTech programme in Computer Science and Engineering. These courses have a scope for admissions through national level entrance exams such as JEE Main for B.Tech, B.E, and GATE for M.Tech, M.E. Some of the seats are also offered through DASA and state counselling of Manipur as well. The admission process is generally conducted in the months of March to April each year for the new academic session that starts from the month of July.

1. Candidate should have completed his/her Bachelor’s degree in any stream of technical study like computer science, electronics etc with minimum of 60% aggregate marks.
2. GATE score compulsory for MTech admission whereas for the admission to the BTech courses, the candidates need to have the passing certificate of Manipur board.
3. Minimum age 17 years is required for an undergraduate program, and there is no upper age limit for any program set at the institute level.
4. The marks relaxation extended to students of the reserved categories as per the government rules and regulations.

Campus placement in IIIT Manipur is also quite promising in recent years where the institution has been consistently able to provide reasonable placements to the students. Some of the big industries that have recruited students from IIIT Manipur are namely Tata consultancy services, Wipro, Infosys and Tech mahindra. The maximum salary package offereed in 2021 was Rs. 10 lakh per annum coming from the company named as American Express. Currently, the average salary that the company offers is approximately at 5, 90, 000 across all the branches. On-campus recruitment drive for the 2023 graduating batch saw that 69% had found placement with the companies.
