NIT Durgapur provides Bachelors and Masters degree in several engineering and science domains. These major departments are Chemical Engineering, Civil Engineering, Computer Science and Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Electronics & Communication Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Metallurgical and Materials Engineering, Physics, Chemistry & Mathematics.
The requirements may be standardized across departments or programs, but they also differ. Candidates applying for BTech programs have to pass class 12 or equivalent with the required percentage of marks in the relevant courses The percentage of marks required for different categories vary in a range of 60-75 percent. JEE Main/WBJEE etc are recognized exams For MTech, candidates should have, a BTech/BE degree in the relevant branch with a valid GATE score. The National Institute of Technology Durgapur (NITD) is a college that provides baccalaureate and master’s degree programs in different fields of Engineering and Science. It also provides the Admission to the NITD, in which the students can take admission either Online or Offline.
For online application, candidates need to visit the official website of NITD at www.nitdgp.ac.in. The candidate must pay the application fee through online mode only. Go to the admissions section and select online application and then follow the link registration by filling out the particulars needed. You then have to log in using the credentials given by the system then fill up the application form by inputting your academic performance and other information asked in the form. Please, scan your photograph and signatures to upload them according to the requirements stated below. Select the option to make the application fee payment through credit/debit card or net banking.

The eligibility criteria also differs a little in each department- For Engineering departments like Computer Science Engineering, Electronics, Mechanical, Civil, Information & Chemical Engineering, the candidate should have secured minimum 60-70% in Physics, Chemistry & Maths in 12th along with qualifying JEE Main Score. For facilities like Biotechnology, one needs to score around 50- to 60% in Physics, Chemistry, and Biology and has to qualify the JEE Main. Economics and English stream, humanities and social sciences faculties accept 50%-60% in related subjects in 12 standard with JEE Main rank.

NIT Durgapur provides B.Tech in all departments of engineering like Computer Science Engineering, Information Technology, Electrical Engineering, Electronics & Telecommunication Engineering , Mechanical Engineering, Civil Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Biotechnology etc. The admission criteria slightly differ from department to department, but for most of the departments, students having minimum 75% marks in Physics, Chemistry & Mathematics in their 10+2 level with valid JEE Main score only can apply The only acceptable exams for admissions are JEE Main, JEE Advanced, and any state level entrance exam in the field of engineering like WBJEE. However, there is a certain degree of reservation for the female, SC/ST or PwD candidates with somewhat easier standard.
