Raiganj University, located at Raiganj, West Bengal, is a state university and it is established in the year 2015. The institution has been approved by the University Grants Commission (UGC) and has been granted B+ grade accreditation by the National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC). According to the NIRF 2023 ranking, Raiganj University secured its position in the 151-200 category of universities in India. 

The university provides education at all levels – undergraduate, postgraduate, and doctoral levels in faculties of arts, science, commerce, education, computer sciences and management. The most common programs offered are the bachelor programs, such as BA, BSc, BCom, BBA, BCA, master programs like MSc, MA, MCom, MBA, MCA, and master of philosophy and doctoral programs. As indicated earlier, most programs have an admission criteria where the candidates are admitted on merit of qualifying examinations. For PG programs, Raiganj University enforces the entrance tests scores such as WBSU-PGET, WBJEE.

Raiganj University Eligibility Criteria 2024 (by Departments)

1. Undergraduate programs required them to pass the 10+2 or equivalent exam with 50 % marks for general category and 45% for SC/ST/OBC/PWD category. 

2. For the postgraduate programs, the candidate must have a bachelor’s degree in the relevant field minimum 50 percent marks in the degree 45 percent for the reserved category from the recognized university.

3. For MPhil and PhD admissions, one must be a postgraduate from a recognized University under the age of 35 years with minimum 55% marks in the qualifying examination and NET/SET/GATE qualified as applicable. 

4. In addition to the above criteria, some programs may require other things such as relevant work experience, performances in certain entrance tests among others.

5. In case of candidates in reserved categories, the management offers concessions on the stipulated eligibility standards as dictated by the government.

6. University also owns the responsibility to alter the eligibility criteria of any program as and when needed. Candidates need to beware of new requirements set by the institutions before they apply.

Raiganj University Placements 2024

One more important feature of the education provided by Raiganj University is that the University has a separate placement cell for final year students in every department. Some of the leading companies frequently participating in the campus placements are Tata Consultancy Services, Wipro, Infosys, HCL Technologies and Tech Mahindra to name a few. The maximum salary offered for the batch in the previous year was 6.5 LPA and the median salary was 4.5 LPA. The on campus recruitment drives are conducted every year and majority of the students is nearly 80% gets selected.
