Sidho Kanho Birsha University is an affiliated college located in Purulia, West Bengal which provides number of undergraduate and postgraduate courses in arts, science, commerce, law, education. Some of the important departments are Bengali, English, History, Political Science, Economis, Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, Botany, Zoology, Physiology, Commerce, Law, Education. It has different criteria for different departments like, it’s Some of the accepted qualifying exams have been mentioned above; WBCHSE, ISC, CBSE. For BSc, one has to pass 12th standard with Maths, Physics, Chemistry or Biology. For BCom, the candidate should have passed 12th standard with mathematics or accounts as one of the subjects. For LLB, there is no restriction on the graduation stream but the candidate must have graduated in any stream. University also offers integrated law after 12th, that means it consist of law courses in its curriculum. For MA, MSc, MCom, and LLM programmes, one needs to have relevant bachelor’s degree to apply.

2. The admission tab can be clicked and when you do this you are required to choose your course of interest so as to access the online application form.
3. To start with, prepare your account by entering your email address, mobile number and other few particulars.
4. Enroll by completing the online application and submit your academic, personal, and contact information where needed.
5. Some of the required document scanning and uploading include photographs, signatures, age proof, certificates among others.
6. Pay the application fee also through online mode either using credit /debit card or net banking.
7. It generates the completed application form with the application number and allows to download and print it for further use.
Documents Required for Admission in SKBU Purulia for Different Courses:
1. This can be done both online and offline with all the necessary documents such as mark sheets, certificates, photos within the stipulated admission time line.
2. In case applicable, the candidate shall appear for relevant entrance test otherwise merit list will be prepared out of class 12th marks for admission to UG course.
3. Take time to review merit lists which may be provided indicating selected candidates for counselling sessions.
4. Go for counselling according to the scheduled time, select the course/college of choice following the merit rank.
5. If alloted a seat, conclude admission process by paying fees, submitting necessary documents and getting enrolled into the college.
6. Resume classes and other academic functions for students and enroll in programs after fulfilling admission processes within communicated time limits.
1. Age limit – An applicant must not be less than 18 years or more than 27 years of age as on 1st July of the year of admission.
2. Application – The application forms can be downloaded from the university website or one can personally collect the application form by paying the required amount at the university office.
3. Complete and submit the form – Forms have to be completed correctly with all the information asked for filled in and the form and documents if any required, have to be deposited before the last date mentioned.
4. Take a written entrance test – Candidates who have applied for the courses have to take a written entrance test which will be conducted by the university at centers.
5. Announcement of merit list - University provides the list of the selected candidates in descending order of merit based on the written examination score and eligibility standards.
6. Last stage of admission - There is another thing that short listed candidates must do; the admission process include submission of documents and fees payment and enrollment within the stipulated time.

6. Go for counselling as per the slot allotted, select your department and complete the admission formalities by submitting the admission fees.
7. Clear all the certificates and formality which they have to submit and get their identity card to get complete admission procedure done.

7. The admission process should be finalized and I should obtain the ID card in order to attend the M.Com course at SKBU Purulia.
1. Eligibility criteria – At least 55% for Master’s degree or equivalent grade in the concerned subject from any University recognized by the University Grants Commission or any other recognized university.
2. Complete application form and submit documents - The application form for the program is usually online or from the university office upon the payment of fee between June and July.
3. - Complete all entries, select research area, scan and upload necessary documents, and finally, submit before the given deadline.
4. Group Discussion - Conducted in January/February and tests the research ability, subject knowledge, awareness level.
5. Interview – Those applicants who have passed the written exam get to sit for an interview in August/September in order to determine their interests.
6. Final admission – That is done through the selection committee, which determines the merit list considering the results of the written, interview, and the students’ academic achievements.
