Tumkur University is located in Tumkur, Karnataka and it offers several undergraduate and postgraduate programs like arts, science, commerce, management, education etc. The admission criteria differs from the department- For the B.A. courses one needs to pass 12th in arts stream with minimum 45% marks for General category students and 40% marks for the SC/ST/Category-I students. B.Sc. education needs 12th science stream with at least 45% marks in remaining 40% in case of reserved candidates must be passed in Physics, Chemistry, Maths/Biology subjects. B.Com eligibility is 12th commerce stream and student have to score minimum 45 percent marks (40 percent marks for reserved categories). MBA is a two year program that can be pursued by anyone who has completed bachelor’s degree in any discipline with minimum of 50% marks and will have to clear the entrance tests such as KMAT/PGCET. To pursue B.Ed one must have completed bachelors degree in any stream and pass Teachers Eligibility Test. The accepted entrance exams as per the program are: KMAT, PGCET, TET, KCET etc.
The major courses and streams taught are B.A.in languages, history, economics etc. B.Sc. Maths, Physics, Chemistry, Botany etc in their science sections while in their commerce sections, they offer B.Com in Accounting, Finance, Marketing etc. other programs include MBA, MCA, B.Ed etc. The admission process begins in May each year with form purchase and completion of necessary forms. There are competitive tests such as KMAT conducted in the months of June/July, or PGCET exam in the month of August, and then students are admitted based on counselling on the ranks achieved for the particular course. For the admission of 2024, all the exam dates of the courses, eligibility criteria, and the entrance test details will be out by February-March 2024 on the official website and through notifications. 1. It is necessary to visit the university website or to read the advertisement to find out the notification concerning MBA admission. Applications are usually sought in the period of May/June every year.

The university should make an announcement of the list of students who have been offered admission to join the university and this announcement should be made on the university website once in a while.
