The VNIT Nagpur or Visvesvaraya National Institute of Technology Nagpur is one of the leading and reputed technological institutions in India. It was established in the year 1960 as a Engineering College of the region and in the year 2002 it was given the status of National Institute of Technology. VNIT Nagpur is an Institute of National Importance and the institute has been funded by the Government of India. AICTE, New Delhi recognized institution and it is ‘A’ Grade accredited by National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC). In NIRF top 100 engineering institutions rating 2023, VNIT Nagpur stood at the position of 36th.  

VNIT Nagpur has a number of programs at the bachelor’s, master’s and doctoral level in engineering, sciences, management, humanities and social sciences. The most popular courses offered includes Computer Science and Engineering, Electronics and Communication, Electrical and Electronics, Mechanical Engineering, Civil Engineering and Chemical Engineering among others. The admission process begins in the month of April every year depending on the national level entrance tests such as JEE Mains, GATE, etc. The dates and admission notifications are available on the institute web portal. These include written exams, group discussions and personal interviews from a list of candidates shortlisted to be considered.

As per the recent data, the placement achievement of this university is that more than 85 percent of the students got placed in the campus placement every year. The maximum salary that is paid to the candidates reaches up to 43,000 rupees per month or 43 LPA. The various programmes available for the B.Tech include computer science and information technology electrical & electronics mechanical civil chemical metallurgical & material among others are offered by VNIT Nagpur.
