Visvesvaraya National Institute of Technology (VNIT) Nagpur is also known as National Institute of Technology, Nagpur and is one of the thirty NIT’s in India. VNIT Nagpur provides opportunities in B.Tech and M.Tech in computer science, information technology, electrical and electronics, mechanical, civil, chemical, metallurgical and many more. This is usually due to differences in the eligibility criteria depending on the particular department one is applying for. Separate criteria for admission to Computer Science and Engineering department includes at least 60% marks in Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics in 12th exams. The accepted entrance exams are JEE mains, MHT CET, and similar exams. For admissions in Information Technology, the candidate should have passed 12th with 60 PCM with GATE score or exams like JEE Mains MHT CET. The eligibility criteria is the same for CSE, ECE, Electrical, Mechanical and other heart disciplines of engineering.
The VNIT Nagpur Admission process for the academic year 2022-2023 has started and candidates can apply for the undergraduate and postgraduate courses such as BTech, MTech, MSc, and PhD offered by the institute. There are two ways a students can apply they can either apply online or in person.
The candidate must apply online through the VIT website by logging on to www.vnit.ac.in and select admission. For this, they themselves are required to register on the website, complete the online application form and attach the necessary documents, as well as pay the application fees through net banking, debit card or credit card.

VNIT Nagpur is one among the reputed engineering colleges in Nagpur offering a number of undergraduate engineering departments such as Computer Science and Engineering, Electronics & Communication, Electrical, Civil, and Mechanical Engineering Departments. The conditions that one has to meet in order to gain admission across departments are having passes in 12th class with Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics subjects. Candidates are required to give national level entrance exams such as JEE Main for their admissions. Computer science Electronics electrical mechanical engineering streams accepting JEE Main score for the Bachelor programs. The Civil Engineering program allows the students to produce scores for JEE Main and other architectures examination such as NATA.

The minimum eligibility criteria as proposed in the VNIT Nagpur website for PhD admission across departments are that the candidate should have passed the Master’s degree in the relevant discipline with minimum 60% marks or CGPA 6.5 on a 10 point scale. Recommended entrance examinations for admissions to PhD programmes are GATE/CEED/NET or any other national level examinations.
For admission to PhD program, VNIT Nagpur has a variety of specialization areas like Structural Engineering, Transportation Engineering, Geotechnical Engineering, Water Resources Engineering in Civil Engineering, Communication Systems, Signal Processing, Computer Networks in Electronics and Communication Engineering.
