The Visvesvaraya Technological University is one of the collegiated public State universities of Karnataka, established in Belagavi. It is a university established under the state act and is recognized and accredited by the University Grants Commission and the Government of Karnataka. The college has been accredited by NAAC and it got A grade accreditation. Today The Times of India has reported NIRF Rankings 2023 of VTU where it has secured the 28th position among engineering colleges in India.
VTU is involved in offering degree courses in various fields of engineering, technology, architecture, mathematics, Natural and social sciences, humanities and other specializations at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels. A few of the specific programs of study in VTU include B.Tech, M.Tech, MCA, MBA, M.Sc and integrated MBA. The admission process begins in the month of may every year and the students have to write the CET-Karnataka for obtaining admissions in the engineering and technological fields. The even semesters for the existing students are conducted all through the month of November and December while the odd semesters are conducted during the month of May and June.
Placement and internship cell of VTU is strong and helps in the recruitment of students by famous companies. More than 500 reputed organizations come for campus recruitment and standout IT giants are Infosys, Wipro, TCS, CTS, Tech Mahindra and Accenture. Some of some of most renowned core engineering organizations such as Larsen & Toubro Ltd, Bosch, etc also recruit from VTU. The Placement Cell successfully placed 75% of the eligible students in 2022 with a highest Salary Package of 48 LPA. The average salary package that the students can expect to bag is 6-8 Lakhs per annum. Most of the students who took part secured their jobs within the IT companies, manufacturing industries, construction industries and the automobile industries. VTU headed to achieve its placement target, out of which 80% of eligible students got placed in the year 2022 through campus placements.
