The mode of application for the admission into engineering and technology programs can either be online or offline depending on the results obtained in the respective entrance examinations and the results of the qualifying degree.
- Entrance examination scores – KCET (Karnataka Common Entrance Test) is the entrance examination that has been used. In their quest for admission, students are ranked according to their performances in this examination.
- In case of some of the seats, the admission is through a consortium known as COMEDK which conducts another separate common entrance test.
- For the management/NRI sanctioned seats, the admissions are determined from the students’ outcome of the PU/10+2 examination or an entrance test organized by the college or university.
- There are also schemes where students with diploma are admitted into the program at the 2nd year of the engineering programme. For this, their diploma percentage is taken into account, and a teacher, therefore, may be expected to have a high diploma percentage.
